  1. Hi All Does anyone have any recommendations for a good bag/box to store various and sundry items used for Astronomy/Astrophotography? I would want to store a compass, spirit level, eye pieces, cables etc. What is everyone using for this? Many thanks A
  2. Hi David That's very kind. I will PM you now. Thanks again. A.
  3. Hi thanks for the feedback, that's very helpful. Which size camera bolt is it and where should I get one from? Any suggestions re where to source the spacer would be great. Thanks!
  4. Hi all If I wanted to mount my ZWO guidescope on the ED80 rings what adapter would I need? I would like to use the finderscope mount for a finderscope instead of the guidescope. Many thanks A.
  5. Many thanks for all your advice. One item I hadn't selected was a light pollution filter. Does anyone have any recommendations for one that isn't going to break the bank? Thanks again!
  6. Thanks for the clarification. So it sounds like I'll need a second Lynx Astro and a female cigarette to DC. Is that correct?
  7. I ordered one of these from amazon Masterplug WBXBFG10B Outdoor IP54 Weatherproof Box with 13amp 4 Socket 10 meter Extension Lead - Black https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0062GTL42/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Jb.JCb2QVJJKC
  8. For the most part I will be using it in the garden very close to 240 outlets
  9. There is a two port Dew controller with DSLR power in the list. I also have a two battery extended grip for the 600D. Thanks for checking, I want to and order as much as I can in one go.
  10. Good point on the FF, I'll change it to the skywatcher.
  11. Hi All I'm about to purchase an ED80 for astro photography and have quite a few items in my basket at FLO . Would you mind casting your eye over my selections and let me know what is missing or what alternatives I should pick. I will be attaching a modified 600D. I'm based in suburban Surrey, UK so presumably I'll need a light pollution filter of some sort. Street lights are turned off in residential roads after midnight now to save money so that will help. Many thanks in advance
  12. I just emailed Juan and he replied straight away. Thanks again
  13. Hi all I'm looking to purchase some eye pieces and a barlow for use with an 80ED and also possibly a MAK150. I was considering a Baader 2.25 barlow and zoom hyperion and maybe some other Baader eyepieces. I'm sure everyone has there own preference on brand based on experience and I would appreciate your input.
  14. So I purchased a Baader modified 600D from cheapastro on March 4th but I have had no communication since. I have emailed cheapastro about the order but have not received any response. Is this normal for them?
  15. Have emailed Cheapastro but not heard anything back yet either.
  16. Hi All, I'm looking to purchase an astro modified DSLR and was thinking of buying a pre modded camera from DSLR Astro Mod. Has anyone used that company in the last 12-18 months? I submitted a question via the email form around 24 hours ago but have not had a response. I wanted some clarification on the various options for each camera mod. I am also looking out for used DSLR's here and ASTRO BUY SELL but it's slim pickings atm. Thanks A
  17. Thanks all, being realistic about it. It's more likely to be the 150. @Sunshine if you have any tips on which accessories, modifications or anything else I should pickup to improve the experience please share.
  18. Hi All, I am considering purchasing a MAK 150 or 180 purely for Planetary and Lunar observing and photography. I will use a ED80 for deep sky. I would appreciate some advise on which mount to use and if I can get away with an ALT AZ for planetary image capture? I will be using a CCD instead of a DSLR. I understand that these are heavy scopes and I may add to that with an external focuser. Should I be looking at the AZ EQ5 GT or will a cheaper mount do the job? Also should I purchase a new guidescope and guide camera or is this not necessary for this setup? Your thoughts and advice are greatly appreciated.
  19. Hi all, I've been considering buying two scopes. One for moon, solar and planetary and one for deep sky (visual and astrophotography). But if a 102mm ED apo refractor can do both well then I may consider that instead. Can anyone confirm this would be a good choice and provide some links for makes and models to look at? I will be using an EQ6 mount. **Actually I was going to buy three scopes. 1. A 150p Mak for Planets/Moon. 2. A 80mm Refractor for DSO. 3. A Newtonian for ISS capture**
  20. Thanks all, I have a lot to consider. Figured I'd end up with more than one scope to do everything I want. Will keep an eye on the classifieds section
