  1. You are not alone... https://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?threads/problem-with-new-spcc.19634/page-2 I managed... but cannot now remember how... but it definitely had something to do with the 'wrench' symbol. Good luck!
  2. About 35 minutes... Started at 21.02, ended 21.37 on 30th Jan. Total 42 exposures, each of 50 seconds using a 5D3. ED80 DSPRO with x0.85 on HEQ5. I usually use APT but had all sorts of problems and ended up with an old intervalometer dangling around...
  3. I've really struggled with these, imaged early evening a few nights ago... couldn't get the integration following comet alignment to work well, however quite pleased with the Gif.
  4. I started with a 450D and intervalometer.. and still use the camera (after a couple of years I had it astro-modded cheaply). I also got a second-hand star adventurer (have moved on to a HEQ5). Without tracking your exposures at longer focal lengths will be very short... However you should be able to get some nice wide-angle images with reasonable exposure lengths, and landscapes with good star trails.
  5. Well... it was quite challenging for me, and I have had to refresh some of my physics/mathematics. It does seem valid, however I do like the conclusion from... We have explicitly shown .... This is some new meaning of 'explicitly' for me!!! Once again, thanks.
  6. Have skimmed through... must sit down with pencil and paper, and concentrate. Stimulating. Thanks.
  7. Lovely... Didn't know that the Sun was still around! All been replaced by clouds and fog!
  8. I use multiple layes of white, well ironed, pillow case against a reasonable 'even' piece of sky. Seems to work for me.
  9. I do like the pastel shades. Very nice.
  10. I suspect that I'd have at least one Garn!
  11. Sounds like the pianist is already there!!!
  12. Just image the Saltire after that! Thank goodness for King Angus there were no aeroplanes in 823 AD!
  13. I'd seen this mentioned a while ago. I tried this with my ED80 DSPRO and 450D a few weeks ago... You have me well beaten. 417 days time lag... Quite a crop attached. Fifty exposures at 120 seconds. 800ISO.
  14. Agree with Padraic re gear puller... take your time and take photos as you go to help when putting it back together. Re-setting the worm backlash took longer than the belt-mod! (but was done, again following guides).
  15. Dust all over my car... I'd only recently cleaned it and discovered that it is blue!
  16. Dazzy... Dec is an angular 'altitude'; however the zero and ninety degrees are not horizon and overhead..... 90 degrees is not overhead... it is 'close to' polaris... To avoid being 'peed off' even a little wikipedia or google might help. Relax, read and re-read...
  17. I'm on a housing estate; two other 'imagers' within 200 metres of me! Only found out whilst walking the dog and seeing scopes set up in gardens!
