  1. I recently found out about the amazing drizzle feature in DSS. So I bought a 3tb hard drive for the temp storage and later for photo storage. But even with 2.7tb of space for temp files it isn't enough for the stacking process. Is there a way to use 2 different storage devices for the DSS temp files?
  2. Sounds good. Remember, Binoculars sell quickly, so you can upgrade later on. You can also buy a tripod 2nd hand pretty cheap for about 10-15£ if you look in the right places.
  3. Is there anything that doesn't involve money. I've already spent too much on my setup.
  4. I 3d printed a mask a while ago. I wish now I designed it so it goes on snug...
  5. I was wondering how to get phd2 to autoselect a star and guide automatically after a meridian flip without myself being there to assist it. Does anyone know how to do this? I have searched over the web, but everything went over my head. Any help will be appreciated.
  6. +1 for the skymaster binoculars. I recommend the 15x70 ones, they are only a tiny bit over your budget, but they bring amazing views for the cost.
  7. +1 for the ender 3. I couldn't be happier with mine.
  8. Time to start using calibration frames. You will be amazed with what they can do.
  9. That's a fair amount of Nebulosity for a 4 sec exposure. Nicely done.
  10. To help your search, This website will help dso-browser.com . Or you can try using cartes du ciel.
  11. I currently use a nikon d3300 for astrophotography and I plan to remove the IR filter. But I am wondering how it will be cleaned after. Is there a way to clean a naked sensor? Would it be as safe to clean as it? Any advice is appreciated.
  12. Carina always gives me a cozy feeling when I see it
  13. Those are some stunning images for an object only 8 arc seconds large. nicely done.
  14. How would I do that in photoshop, or other software? could I use auto tone? Or would I do something else?
  15. That is a stacked image (I know it's not much for 4 all nighters, but bortle 8-9 and full moon will do that). And for the satellite trails, I am not worried about them as I have not completed the exposure time I want. But the kappa sigma clipping does seem it will help a lot. I hope it helps remove some moon glow.
  16. I agree. Saturn is also only 14 arc seconds small at its furthest point, but at the moment mars is only 7.5 arc seconds at the moment. A decent scope could quite easily tell the difference. What are the specifications of your telescope and what size eyepiece were you using?
  17. Never mind, I tried again and it worked wonderfully. Thanks a ton!
  18. I'm so sorry, I don't quite understand how to execute this.
  19. It does look like nebulosity, but in the individual frames it showed a distinctive glow in single frames. It is also a single band that is brighter. So i'm pretty sure it's the moon glow.
  20. how would I select the area so It doesn't have noticeable seams?
  21. I was lucky enough to get 4 clear nights in a row, one night though the moon was a little in the way. It created a glow in the image in the top left. Does anyone know how to remove it or reduce the effect? Any advice is appreciated.
