  1. That seems like a reasonable solution. Do you know how I would go about doing that?
  2. I own a nikon d5000. When I connect it to digcam control it doesn't allow me to take exposures longer than 30s. Does anyone know a free alternative that can take long exposures?
  3. I calibrated my images, aligned with star alignment, integrated them and then debayered the image.
  4. I recently stacked my exposures in pixinsight, But now they are rgb images without colour. (I made sure they aren't grey scale). Does anyone know why this is happening? Any help is appreciated.
  5. For about 70 usd you can get a 15x70 pair of binoculars, they are an amazing pair of binoculars and don't need a tripod.
  6. Can I change the stacking method in DSS, if so, which one?
  7. I was just processing 15 hrs of data on the Vela SNR, and I noticed this artifact. This is 1/4 through my post processing. Does anyone know if I can fix this, or is something wrong? I use Pixinsight & Photoshop. Here's a starless version.
  8. I'm still not sure about how high to go, will 30% do the trick or is that too high?
  9. No drizzle. I am using the 64 bit version. I have an ssd but there is not enough storage. and I have to resort to using a HDD. Not possible, there is roughly 40 gb of data to upload. Does Siril allow more than one data set? eg. darks and lights from different nights.
  10. Does DSS support multiple tiff's being stacked?
  11. I was planning to stack my images over a few nights, I have around 1100 images at 45 seconds each. The time to stack says over 30 hours of stacking! The only settings I have changed is I changed the temp file location and I put median kappa sigma clipping on, but i'm pretty sure that doesn't effect stacking time. Is there a way to speed this up? is there other software I can use? Am I stuck with this assuredly long stacking time? Any help is appreciated.
  12. How could i make the sensor just a bit further away?
  13. I have had my Orion field flattener for a few months and I have been noticing that it is helping but still has some spherical aberration. I have a Nikon d3300 and I use the T-ring to mount it to the flattener, does anyone know why this happens and is there a way I can fix it? Any help is appreciated.
  14. I own the AZ-GTi and a have a full setup up and running on its eq-mode. I heard that EQMod worked with the az-gti if it went through INDI which is only compatible with Linux. Is there any way I can use INDI on windows to get EQMod working on this mount?

  17. If you really have your heart set on astrophotopgraphy later you might be able to get away with this if you put an eq wedge onto it https://skywatcheraustralia.com.au/product/130-az-gti-reflector-goto-wifi/. I'm not sure about the quality of the optics on that though...
  18. I found a really good deal for the canon 400d second hand, I have been looking for a new camera for a little while.
