  1. The Silver Streak Galaxy NGC4216 at the centre bottom of the image, although I think it may also be called the Weaver Shuttle galaxy, which seems not unreasonable. Situated in Virgo and is about 55 million light years away. Several smaller galaxies about, but I particularly like the blue spiral arms of NGC4189 to the upper left of the image. Taken with an FSQ106, with an ASI1600 mono with 240 minutes of luminance (3 min subs), an 1 hour each of RGB (1 minutes subs). Cheers Phil silver streak.tif
  2. Thanks - I was just pleased to get this old scope working !
  3. Great optics on this scope but the mound is difficult to handle - managed to gather together enough data for a colour M100 - probably about five hours of data in the end (many discarded files) in 60 second subs. Cheers P
  4. I've always been amazed that it was possible to see a star cluster in another galaxy, so I merely centred my scope on NGC206 one night and kept firing shots when I could over a few nights. I've never been quite sure whether the blue points of light seen in the images are single stars or groups. Imaging with an FSQ106 at 530mm, with ASI1600mm. About 2 hours of luminance at 1 x 1, RGB about an hour each at 2 x 2 and Ha (also 2 x 2). Cheers P
  5. Amazed it was ever spotted !!
  6. Close to the Crescent Nebula (NGC6888) is a hidden secret - very difficult to spot.... With a bit of cheating with a star removal tool, all is revealed.... To the right is the Soap Bubble nebula, a planetary nebula discovered a number of years ago by an amateur astronomer (great spot !!). This is a cropped view of two night's worth of data, using a Tak FSQ106 with a 0.73 x reducer. 3 hours of Ha and 3 hours of Oiii data using an ASI1600mm. Have fun Best wishes Phil
