Universal Rotation Theory... http://adsabs.harvard.edu/full/1985MNRAS.213..917B
-
Something has my curiosity on the rotation thing, we use the cosmic microwave background radiation to settle current universal rotation possibilities but since this radi was laid down at the beginning of the universe and the universe has evolved and it's physics have changed so drastically were the dominant forces are now altered its possible I believe the science is not as settled as some assume, I have been right before in similar matters and only time will tell but I"m certainly learning a lot about astro physics and the universe in the process.
Cool you are also thinking outside the box, what's inside is so yesterday.
Freddie.

would you believe it a day of blue sky and nothing happen on sol, someones having a laugh ....

When someone right here on SGL claimed to capture a new solar constant and provided imagry to support his finds I thought I may never see these phenomena in pictures again but did think that the now gone from SGL individual was surely onto something and now I come to find out he indeed found something amazing...

Are barlow lenses any good. I've bought two, a Vixen 2X and a Celestron Cel-LX 2X, and they just provide a bigger, blurrier image.
-
Sorry for the late reply just caught this, no I wouldent say barlows are bad just need to use them within the constraints of the seeing conditions and your telescopes highest useful magnification, conditions will always dictate useability so if using a Barlow gives a blurry view successive longer focal length eye pieces should then be tried with the Barlow until the view is sharp hard to do of course with a limited eyepiece collection. A zoom can be used with a Barlow wich is many eye pieces in one and usually are 8 to 24mm so it is a long and short focal length eye piece all in one, always make sure to refocus after adding the Barlow and as well when changing from one eye to the next as all eyes will have a slightly different focus so this means your son should do his own focusing when at the eyepiece. Hope this helps, if you need further assistance just ask ?
Again Best of Luck!

House hunting for the first time in 25 years with an obsy site the #1 priorety this go round, thank goodness for google maps street view and online LP maps ?
-
Yes nowhere but not too far from somewhere or the perfect balance is a difficult search even with good tools, elevation, darkness, the proper zoning to allow the obsy build and of course then the wife has to like the house.
Thanks I will need to be both shrewed and lucky to get this all just right, a 15' dome with a two foot skirt will house a 20" Stargate dob...I will post the build here at some point ?

I’m trying to be optimistic for the weather at Kelling from Thursday onwards!

Exasperation is setting in with this hobby....decided to try imaging again due to LP killing visual observation, only to be clouded out time & time again after first sub.

Last night I bagged 9 of the brighter Perseids, M31, M32, M110, Saturn, Mars transparency about a 6 so not much worth going after but it was worth getting to be outside all night, My favorite part. Andromeda and it's companions were quite detailed though for the seeing dust lanes just hinting, maybe some colour to be seen this year I hope. Tonight is my final attempt at the Perseids ?
