  1. Has this become an auction? Moderator can we move this tread to For Sale/Swap section... Then I'll remind OP that auctions are forbidden and a price should be stated.
  2. How big is the difference between f5 and f4.7?.... numbers seem to be close but I have no reference point
  3. Have you had any of the ES 82° range? How do you think they would perform in a 10'' F4.7 dob?
  4. If you like splitting double, you should try Epsilon Lyrae (just next to Vega). Magnify it a bit you ll see 2 stars, magnify it more and you should be able to split those 2 stars into 4! Amazing sight!
  5. How about sending it in orbit? Too ambitious?
  6. That's an impressive scope... I can only wonder about what the universe looks like through sucha beast!
  7. Same boat indeed... I was thinking about getting one of the finder multipliers with which you can fit 2 or 3 finders on the same shoe but I realised I could get a new Telrad (comes with its own base) for only 15 EUR more. I have a slight advance on the filter side as I have a UHC and an OIII (and color filters but they re really low quality). The UHC is great, you should try that on the ring or the dumbell nebula, it makes a big difference.
  8. I think moving from the 130 to the 250 was amazing. When I looked at the moon for the first time in the 250 i felt like the difference was almost a big as the one between the 130 and naked eye (yes I m exagerating) My first purchase after the 250 was a Telrad finder. I planning on buying a RACI finder and in time the lacerta microfocuser upgrade kit. What about you?
  9. Don't for get there's a second hand buy/sell section on this site. I ve found some great items there.
  10. When I bought my first telescope, I got the BST 5mm and 15mm. It was definitely money well spent.
  11. Funny, I just made the same move from SW 130 to 250p. I had the same problem with collimation but someone at a club observing session did collimated mine ... I still am uncomfortable doing it though. Still my views are much sharper now!
  12. Not as impressive ... but It my first case and I think it looks good! It's a serious upgrade compared to the shoe box I was using before
  13. That sounds pretty terrible indeed. From my site in can distinguish fainter constellations like the dolphin or the arrow
  14. I have an OIII and UHC FIlter but didn't manage to see it. What would be the most light polluted sky under which I could still see it, on a clear night with my 10' Dob. I reckon I observe under Bortle 5 (although I can go to a Bortle 4 site)
  15. Neptune is on my list. Albireo is gorgeous and easy to find. I think that my sky has to much light pollution for the Veil (I tried to no avail)
  16. Already ordered. It should be on its way (with turn left at Orion). But there is so much content in those I wanted to have a more limited selection to begin with.
  17. Hey Guys, I just started to seriously hunting DSOs about a couple of weeks ago (when I got my new 10'' Dob) and so far I managed to find the followings: -Dumbell Nebula -RIng Nebula -Andromeda and M110 -M13 GLob cluster -M15 GLob cluster -NGC 457 ET open cluster -Doubles stars: Albireo, the one in delphinus, double double in lyra I found all those DSOs amazing and I wonder what should be next on my list of targets. I'm looking for anything visualy pleasing under my light polluted skies (Bortle 5 I guess) Cheers, Raph
  18. With that budget you could probably get either a 12'' Dobsonian without Goto or an 8'' with Goto. Obviously the first one is going to give you better views but you'll have to find the objects by yourself. Neither of these will be suited for DSO astrophoto but you could do planetary. You should also consider buying second hand
  19. Yes! Yesterday was the first time I saw the GRS!
  20. Since I have little experience, would you suggest buying it instead of an Atlas?
  21. You might convince me ... I'm easily convinced when it comes to buy astrostuff
  22. For those interrested, apparently there's gonna be an new edition at the end of september. I think I'll wait a month to get it
  23. It seems amazing but I'm trying to keep my astro spending down... This month, I already bought a nice bundle with a 10'' dob, some EPs, a camera for planetary imaging ... I also got an OIII filter. I'm about to order a Telrad...
