  1. Good news mate I've come to work with qhy and new zwo mini finder and my tiny note book and managed to get a image admittedly it's a Bush but it's a start ???????. BUT it didn't like any of the ascom drivers so I'm just using a qhy standard .its working though
  2. Will put asi into st80 then move it over once done.
  3. Was thinking if qhy plays up gonna polar align with phd2 and asi in 130pds then go to apt for image capturing .
  4. Have changed dove bar since then to widen the brackets a little.i know it's another cam bought but this one just seem problematic. Bernard modern astro has said he can check it for me but doubts it has a issue as it works on other platforms ( sharpcap EZplaetary) But when windows started not finding cam that was it for me I think.ckear skies tonight 23.00 -04.00 happy days maybe.
  5. There doesn't seem to be a difference . Liking the look off the asi mini . Also the qhy mini scope looks nice but I think I'm done with qhy for life lol
  6. I am just past my tolerance with this qhy a quick restart as I made a cuppa and now nothing finds the qhy and windows dont know what it is . Last chance reloading all drivers for qhy if not I'm buying a new cam had enough of it.
  7. I bought it new last year .I did think about just buying a new cam asi mini but I was informed I may have issues with two similar cams as I use my asi178 for imaging (eventually that was the idea) .
  8. Bought it new last year .and have been told if I purchase another asi to use as guide and use my asi as imaging cam i may get issues with to similar cams .
  9. Yeah using latest phd2 finds qhy cam but only as ascom capture and will not building darks
  10. Morning all so see if this makes any sense PhD 1.14.2 finds qhy5l-ii camera and can make dark library ?? .so issue must be with phd2 .sooo confused. Just started up phd2 and now it finds camera but only as qhy capture ascom but will not make darks camera times out I have increased time but still nothing.?
  11. Sharpcap also I'm done for today a complete reinstall of everything and still no better ? try again tomorrow before my clr night
  12. Yeah it's still not recognised by any software other than EZPlanetary.about to do a complete uninstall of all qhy/phd/ascom and reinstall and see what happens .I've also posted on the phd2 forum but I'm not sure if the issue is just phd2 as apt cant find the qhy cam either.

  14. Yeah I reckon in total 6 ish times I've reinstalled various drivers.
  15. Laptop has 2 usb3 slots and one USB2 mount works well in the USB2 .maybe could give it a go ? brb lol No usb2 didn't work ? So now uninstalling phd2
  16. Apt doesn’t register the qhy either but it picks up the asi straight away .
  17. Def not but it does mean that a throw the qhy as far as I can over the back fence and get a another asi to use .??? I cant take it with me.
  18. Well I've swapped the qhy for the asi and it's looking good just keep loosing stars for polar align clouds but programs seem to be working atm grr just checked flo weather where did the clouds come from been clr all day
  19. Bottle you use a qhy5l ii c with PHD2 for guiding?
  20. Camera works fine when I use ezplanatory qhy supplied software. When I use phd2 the display looks like a untuned TV and none of the settings change the display
  21. omg so phd2 can find a ascom cam driver hooray but will not allow me to make darks ?
  22. Just found new drivers for cam and update for phd2 .nothing like doing it all at once lol
  23. Cam works well in ezplanatory software
  24. Alan I’m using the cam with red tick but not the Ascom one I think this may be the issue
