  1. I've been thinking about selling my gear for a while, bought in 2018 and 2019, but I'm not sure how much it is worth as there is very little pre-owned stuff around to compare against. It's been packed away since the end of 2019, the ZWO gear has done about 90 hours of imaging, the SpaceCat has done some test shots of M42 and that's it. What has spurred me on to do something is someone that I know locally is interested in the ZWO camera, filter wheel and filters. I'll list what I have below and prices from eBay; ZWO ASI 1600MM-Pro - £840 ZWO EFW 7 slot 36mm unmounted - £250 - 270 ZWO LRGB 36mm unmounted - £150 (on the Blue filter and possibly the Green there are small chips on the outer edge, I haven't noticed any detrimental effect on the data/images) ZWO SHO 36mm unmounted 2nd Gen - no prices, £508 new William Optics SpaceCat - none on eBay, a few RedCats for £550 - £690 DeepSkyDad EAF focuser for SpaceCat - ??? Also various accessories. I'm in two minds whether to sell or not, the reasons that I stopped imaging are complicated, a mixture of life/young kids that aren't the best sleepers/time/location/work and I now have 1.5Tb of data from Telescope Live, a lot of which are targets with a similar FoV to the ASI1600/SpaceCat combination. I'm not desperate for the cash, it would be nice especially at the moment, but I'm not keen on taking a big loss either.
  2. Here are my two versions, I realised just now that I missed the cut-off, frustratingly I finished them a few days ago but didn't get around to uploading, but anyway.... Remove haloes around the bright star in PI on OIII and SII Decon each filter Make Synth Lum using Image Integration Stretch each filter Remove stars from each filter, reduce stars on Lum In PS, colour tones, topaz denoise AI, local contrast Create separate HSO image for stars, adjust colours Combine these stars with the SHO and SHOO images in PS Use Noel Carboni's actions to slightly soften the images Final adjustments in Lightroom to colours and some local adjustments
  3. An update which hopefully will prove useful, I have been in touch with Mike Schuster on the PixInsight forums throughout the day and he pointed me towards his new script MureDenoiseDetectorSettings (which initially was not showing up in PI even though I have the latest version and all of the repository updates and it had even downloaded but for reasons unknown was not visible in PI under MURE, but after adding it in manually it works great). Using two uncalibrated flats and darks it gives the gain and gaussian noise that you need for MURE, no need to divide by 16, they work straight out of the box and provide a very pleasing result. So for the data above, the gain is correct and the Gaussian noise is 27.71DN.
  4. Thanks, I still don't fully understand offset, but that helps to know that calibration removes it. I have attached a before (bottom image) and after, one with variance at 0.8 (top) and the other at 1.0 (middle), I have used a heavy crop as well.
  5. Thank you Martin, a very nice image by the way! I have just used flatSNRestimator for my G139 O21 Ha flats to get the figures for my Ha data. It gives me Gain 0.061 e-/DN and temporal noise of 715.11 DN. If I leave the Gain as 0.061, but divide the temporal noise by 16 to get 44.69 and put these values into Mure I get what looks like a nice smooth result. If I divide the gain by 16 then I get this horrible granular result, likewise if I don't divide the temporal noise by 16. So is that what you are doing? Leaving the gain given by flatSNRestimator as it is but dividing the temporal noise by 16 to give you the gaussian noise? Are temporal noise and gaussian noise one and the same, the difference being between 12 bit and 16 bit here? I just left the Offset at 0, despite using an offset during capture, I'm not sure whether this is correct or not? Also have you left variance scale and cycle spin-count the same?
  6. Have you had any joy with Mure Martin? I also have the ASI1600MM and have had the same problem that Mure doesn't seem to do much, although many people hold it in high regard which is why I would like to use it. I tried dividing my Gain by 16 but the result was way over-smoothed. Also as a side note the script loaded the metadata successfully upon first attempt including the Gain, Gaussian Noise and Offset, but I'm not able to repeat this. It will however load the combination count and interpolation method repeatedly.
