  1. Is there simple way of connecting a samsung lite 6 to a canon eos 300 please. Preferably by cable as downloading a dozen things which were supposed to connect them did nt work. Even buying a cable with correct plugs seems impossible. Just viewing through a large screen would be useful. Thank you. Jonathon
  2. Trying to connect my eos 1300 d to a new Samsung tablet. The canon handbook seems to be pretty unreliable with the simplest of things even what usb plug . It says micro b but .ost of the micro b s on sale are completely different even one which looks similar isnt!. . Cant even put an image of it on here. Does anyone have one of these cameras and know the proper name of the appropriate usb please. Thanks very much
  3. Bresser. It has the focuser kno b same as Skywatcher at the back. Thanks Ricochet. I ve got boxes of tubes and things . If nothing there fits I have a lathe , no problem
  4. Ah. Bother. I havent got a focuser tube. On the refractor I found by chance a bit more distance worked but did nt on the mak. Relieved about yhat!Might try to find a crayford that fits too then. Thank you very much.Jonathon
  5. Having recently decided to progress from wobbling a telescope about and getting an occasional image with a phone camera! So I bought a long 5 inch Bresser achro, had a few problems using some etepieces but discovered pulling the diagonal out a bit cured most of it. No idea why! A Bresser 127 mak seems to have the same problem but so far insurmountable. Only one cheap old 28mm ep shows anything .Svbony zoom, baader hyperian and other odd ones mostly useless. Love to know why please Jonathon
  6. Thank you very much. I ve bought one! Not got bigger than hedgehogs yet Rick😁😁
  7. Really just for observing ,if it can process and I find a simple enough app ,which I doubt ,I ll have a go. Hopefully plug in not wifi.Tried all this before nothing compatible.Plug in a memory stick too.
  8. Bit of help please. I no longer have a laptop and have no intention of buying another, dont ask why please. I do however have use for a tablet and would like tt know if one can be used coupled to a canon dslr . Partly to give me a big screen to watch and partly to store images in. Knowing as much about tablets as I do laptops- is this likely to work please.? Jonathon Ps.looked this up in search before I wrote it ,now found it ,but any more info appreciated. It will be a bigger samsung with lots of ram etc!
  9. Thank you John. Looks like I ve landed on my feet with this. 👍👍
  10. I have an unused cg5 advanced mount which I have just discovered is a goto. Forgive me but- does this need a computer to control it. I m not looking for instructions , if it does I wont be using it but I would like something which would set itself up using its own control . Mainly for an 8kg refractor with digital camera attached ,occasionaly an 11kg Newtonian but only visual . Thank you
  11. Not sure if this is quite the right place to ask but... I have a virtualy unused CG5 tripod with a GT tracking mount and controller. It s now not needed but I cant find a clue as to how much to advertise it for.!
  12. I live in warm sunny England! In a rather small house. I d be quite happy to keep it inside and peer through its around its tripod to watch television , but my indoor boss wont!
  13. Kept in garage normaly. Thanks Mike. A bulb is a good idea. I put one in a steam engine boiler all winter!
  14. I have found a replacement for my fungulated Skywatcher refractor and wonder about sealing the lenses to stop any damp potentialy seeping in. I wonder if the fumes of anything I use might affect the coatings ! It will have to be kept in a garage. thanks Jonathon
  15. I had decided to replace my fungal achro with a Bresser 127 quad f9 (ish) achromat but have just seen very similar Opticstar 127. I would nt expect it be as good as its about £100 less but thought I d ask for anyone on here who has experience of it. Thank you Jonathon
  16. Thank you everyone. I have an 8 inch newt and have started already making a fork to go ontop of a big tripod and just spent out on 6 eyepieces! Unfortunately I just bought a replacment focuser from FLO so it will be worthwhile buying another similar telescope one day just to fit it!
  17. I have cleaned the lenses but cant seperate them which is where the problem is. I think it s just about had it. Bit dissapointing as I can no longer just replace it . I thought modern coatings would be better, after all they all dew up. Skywatcher perhaps..
  18. Various places in 12 years I ve had it all but one dry except a garage. Nothing out of the ordinary I should think.
  19. Been seeing dark shadows through my achromat for a while and now found these strange things inbetween the lenses along with something that looks a bit like oil blotches (its not!) The little spots are dust inside too. Anyone know whats going on please? Jonathon
  20. I am not a computer person and only have a laptop bought specificaly for astronomy. I found sharpcap is unuseable on windows 10 without much fiddling ,didnt worry me too much as I know someone who can help ,one day. But felt a little peeved to say the least when my laptop wouldnt accept a virtually unused spc900n either. To save me more nonesense does anyone please know of a cheap, ish, webcam I can use on a 1 1/4 eyepiece and is ,might be, acceptable to windows 10 and be used with the laptops own video and photo apps. Thank yoy very much Jonathon
