  1. Just back from kelling Friday to Monday 3 clear nights Friday probably the best , I had said I would not go again but l May have to reconsider after a great weekend ?
  2. Not to mention sea mist I was at the top of the red field one year at Kelling when a sea mist rolled in you could not see past half way down the red field and the mist left everything soaking wet
  3. I have been going to Kelling for ten years probably longer but I fear this will be my last visit for the reasons given above
  4. Hi Paul I have had 2 telrad finder charts sky spot for at least 15 year i have been to the Sky spot web site and they are still selling the pair for £36 dollars depending on postage May be worth a look
  5. Typical kelling We got an hours clear sky on Friday night just enough to tempt us Back next year all being well
  6. Any observing this year will be A plus this year, just glad to to get away for a few nights camping.
  7. Thanks Paul i shall assume there will be no trade stands may save me some money. Fingers crossed the government do not torpedo the event on Monday with travel restrictions.
  8. Fingers .crossed in deed , it the star party goes ahead it will be my first nights away this year. does any one now how many if any trade stands will be at the star party ?

  10. I would love to say I have never done this but I have more than once and it hurts I observe just out side the patio doors which I close and normally reopen if I forget which I have more than once bang
  11. Depends on how much you need the fine focusing cr2 moonlight when you can get a cr1 moonlight For £200.00 including fiting kit which would cost a £150.00 less

Giro mini on a Meade giant tripod can duel mount a 120 frac and an Orion 8 inch reflector (but not a skywatcher way to heavy) at the same time very solid picture of mount with both scopes attached total weight 13 kg I have observed with this set op and it works fine even at 5 kg over max load of 8 kg.

  18. The way I see it is this if you observe when you want to and not because you feel you have to you. / I will enjoy the observing that you do more as you have a more relaxed frame of mind observing when you want to and. Not through some obligation as you may have other priorities
  19. Clear skies hear to which is a bit of a supprise as it has rained all day , managed a.couple of hours observing first for a while still clear out but time for bed Mike
  20. I was at mevagisy in Cornwall and saw all but first contact , as the eclipse started we had wall to wall cloud which Parted after first contact allowing us to observe the full eclipse very lucky really as 10 miles either way they had wall cloud and rain Mike
