I'm simply a fan of large aperture scope Mike. Seeing them all lined
up gives me Goose Pimples. Largest mirror I ever made was a 14", I did a 16", but never
got around to finishing it. It was a thin plate glass  blank anyway, so I wasn't too confident
it would be a successful outcome.. I'm in the threshold of  Digital Imaging, and
the bill for that was large, so all the gear and no Idea is where we are at presently, but strides
have been made, and hopefully I'll get there.  Bottom line is, If it doesn't work out well,
I'll have a good sale, and go into  Big Dob Land myself. .
Hope you and all the Big Eye guys have a Brill. 2018. :icon_salut:

  2. My Skyris 274 a £700 camera has decided to packup on me.

I think that this is probably the final straw. I no longer had the time, inclination or funds to carry on with this hobby.

That must have made you feel a little happier.  There's always hope, and it seems things aren't so gloomy after all. Plus 1 for Grant too.

That's a great shame Ant. but I can understand your frustration boiling up.
One would expect a lifetimes use from an Item that cost a fairly large sum.
No chance it can be fixed?  I have no Idea what could fail in a ccd, but the sensor may well
be a risk factor. Hope you reconsider the packing in bit though, I remember the time you were an active Imager,
and some good stuff it was too. Other factors in life can also add to life's strains, and puts a damper on
ones enthusiasm. Hope you can pick up the reins again though.
      Good luck matey.

Must have been a difficult repair to take two months.
I hope it behaves itself now, and lets you catch up :icon_biggrin:.
