Total of 30mins unguided

Laser guide looks good. I need to build a 12v supply for mine as its got a 230v one at the minute :s not ideal.
-
Got the dec motor changed solid as a rock now just a tiny bit of slack to take up in the ra and I'll be a happy man
-
Probably right. I'll nip it back after work tomorrow and get them to compare it with another kit. I cant see how I could get round this play as it is in the motor it's self. Just wanted to know if it was normal so I didn't look like a fool
It's been a pleasure to follow you on your successful journey to the dark side! Can't wait to see your final results. Particularly the horsehead nebula

Great thread QM. Hopefully I'll be up add running shortly. Just need to question this dec motor :s sideways movement in the motor shaft surely can't be right? Don't want to mod it then find out its a dud and not be able to take it back.
-
I mean the actual motor shaft mate. Seems like a bit too much movement in it to me. Defo more than the ra motor :s
-
QM how much movement do you have in the dec motor? When it's turned off and I move the gear with my fingers the shaft of the motor seems to rock a little. Is your like that?
-
Just fitted the dual axis motors and in rolled the clouds after a day of blue skies.. Typical! Was going to put the scope out to cool but think it might be a waste of time now..
-
Good results mate. Can't wait to see your stacks after seeing your unguided images. This thread has been exactly what I was needing tho thrust me in to ap

QM have you seen this canon battery power supply?

It's a must have in my opinion I only have one battery and like you say.. Doesn't last long in the freezing cold! Roll on payday

Is that good? I had to work late today so didn't get chance to pick my dual axis kit up today grrr. First thing in the morning! Hopefully sky is as clear tomorrow as it is today.
Looking good QM keep up the good work
-
Great stuff! Glad it's all working fine. My motors came in to the store but I can't get down till Friday need to get the mod kit ordered ASAP and hopefully get it all smashed together intime for when this constant cloud cover deceides go away!
-
The good man from RVO called me today to let me know my dual axis motors had come in can't wait to pick them up tomorrow!
-
That would be a very disappointing end to such a long thread make sure you wrap up warm lol
-
Wishing you clear skies for tomorrow QM keep us posted with any developments

Lots of room to build an observatory (I'll look forward to following that project next)
-
One more sleep to go...
-
Not in stock come in on Monday. Grrr
-
Right it's time to take the plunge. I'm off to RVO again! I will return with the dual axis motors this time. Time to get some images and learn some processing techniques before I get the eq6 (which is going to be no time soon) wish me luck
-
I'll have a good read through it tomorrow. It's time to go and consume some real ales now. Cheers QM
