  1. Any ideas anyone? Trying to update the astroeq with confi utility. Took hours last time and now I can't get past this. Also should I be selecting board version v4-eq5 board? Cheers
  2. Agree with the above. I had an 8" newt and swapped it for a 6" due to wanting to head down the ap road but for visual the 8" was much much better. I have my eyes on a 10 inch dob now because The 6" just doesn't quite do it for me.
  3. Thanks. I have room to do 6' x 6'. Sounds more logical, guess I might as well do it right first time for the sake of an extra 30 quid. Should be fun tomorrow cutting the existing roof out with a jig saw :s these clear skies have have me my second wind. Loss my enthusiasm with all the rubbish weather!
  4. After a long break from doing anything with the shed I'm going to have a day at it tomorrow. I have a question though .... Will a 4' x 8' opening be enough in your opinion? I'm only using a 150pds and a small frac so will be able to get the pier high. Anyone using a small opening like that? Trying to keep costs down and use a sheet of 18mm ply that rolls off. Any help much appreciated

  7. My astronomy pc has erupted in a few big sparks and crackles from the psu so need to install everything again as it's taken the hard drive with it was thinking of getting windows 7. Any compatibility issues anyone is aware of?

  9. I've had mine about a year and never had a problem I think they are great and not too expensive
  10. Scope nights is a decent weather app. It gives alerts when it is going to be clear. It seems to be quite accurate but as we all know, non are perfect.
  11. I recently picked up a skywatcher skyhawk 1145p on an eq1 for someone and it's a great little scope. You get a parabolic mirror and you can always upgrade to a better mount later on if you want to dabble in a bit of photography. Plus you can get a small RA motor to track for about 25 gbp. If it's just always going to be for visual then I agree with the above 130p heritage just for the larger aperture and easier setup.
  12. That's what I use. It's enough to take the edge off
