  1. That's an interesting post. I too enjoy my BVs on Lunar and planetary. Never really persevered finding a solution for Solar and not tried much on doubles. But will do so as soon as I can...
  2. The hard work paid off. That's a shot to be proud of...
  3. It's a great project you have documenting so regularly. While I'm waiting for my own scopes to arrive back in England I'd been occasionally looking online to see what solar activity there might be. Looks like I might have found another source of information...
  4. None the wiser ? But it sounds "Halisi"...
  5. I'm gonna follow this Sir. Particularly after you sowed the seed in another thread... Hope all goes well Rafiki...
  6. Oh I have many terms... As I'm sure we all do depending on circumstances...
  7. That's quite a talent you have there. It'll be interesting when the boat with all our gear finally makes its way to these northern shores. I'll have to get used to crouching with the Dobs to see things like Saturn that used to be so much higher... Regardless whether I master the stooping skills required for the UK, I will forever be a talentless sketcher !!
  8. Ha ha... That's something to consider certainly... I'll introduce the concept to "mke wangu" at an appropriate time...
  9. Cheers chaps. All part of life's great adventure. I'm hoping moving back here is going to be more straightforward than moving around Central and East Africa. But you know what ? It ain't looking that way so far !!
  10. That transports me back to where we spent the last few years in various locations in East & Central Africa... While there are sound reasons for us moving back to Blighty, the skies (day and night) weren't on that list. Sigh...
  11. Guess we're going to have to get used to significantly different skies now we're back from East Africa... Both in terms of seeing / transparency and Planet altitudes. Better not pick a location to settle too far North then... :-)
  12. Hey Guys. Thanks... We may pick a few brains in time about where to settle, but we're pretty resilient and resourceful to date. But it's nice to be welcomed so quickly. Ed
  13. Well, we would be if we were on the same boat as all our gear being shipped back, I was going to say "home", but at the moment we're nomads..!! Originally from England we've spent quite a while overseas, but it's time to settle down, be closer to elderly family and where we've been educating the kids... So as early retirees and long term Stargazers we're adding another dimension to the property searching; every location we're heading out to from our "rental" is cross referenced on the LP Map to allow us to escape what blights so many on this crowded island... I'm told the boat with the gear and clearing customs should be another 4 weeks or so, but I'm estimating more ! It should be darker by then anyway. Ed
