  1. With the Declination of the Sun reducing towards the Equinox on 22nd September the shadow of the Earth now runs around the line of Geostationary Satellites. They can be seen to blink out and then reappear about an hour later as the shadow passes. I managed to capture this recently. It happened precisely when SkySafari 6 predicted it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJ9BbHectdI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3aFekl6gXM
  2. Hi Adam, Happy to share a copy with you. I use it regularly. LuSol-Guide.zip
  3. Mine arrived today and replacing the old with new was a three minute job. Just a week to Australia - very happy with that. 6.5 mm width is perfect. I also tightened up the tension a little on the Dec axis as it was a bit looser than the RA. A few minutes of slewing each axis and they seem as smooth as silk. The old ones had a lot of worn belt dust so it was time for new ones anyway it seems. (The picture of my finger) Ordered six so that should do for the foreseeable life of the mount. Thanks again and yes it would be interesting to see how they have fared. My old belts have about 5-600 hours of use over three years. IMG_1849.MOV
  4. Just wanted to say thanks for the link to Beltingonline. Shipping to Australia for these belts cost 5 times the price of the belt but still quite reasonable. A very helpful read here. Thanks to all.
  5. HI and congratulations on your mount. Following on from Helen's good advice I have a video showing how to load the right arm firmware and a brief review of using the mount in Equatorial Mode. You may want to consider a counterweight for the P1000 even if using the mount in Alt / Az. I find it greatly improves the smoothness of the mount while tracking with a P900 and mounting a larger bubble level on the arm allows you to align the mount better than using the small level on the mount. It is a great mount and easy to travel with. I take mine on every work trip.
