Daz First of all welcome from Land Down Under Have enclosed a pic of the focuser of my 10" flex Dob The Dob should had come with a 1.25" adapter, which just slips into the 2" mount The eyepiece just slips straight into the 1.25" adapter There is no need for extension tubes, and I occasionally use a 2X barlow I also use 15mm or 17mm eyepieces, when viewing planets, and other DSO, very successfully I also have a right angle finderscope as well, which saves having to lay on ground when spotting objects over head As the base of the Dob is also chipboard material, always put down a small waterproof tarp, to protect the base from moisture in the ground If have any issues, only too happy to assist John

Been in the Southern Hemisphere, currently have a totally different view of Jupiter and Saturn Jupiter rises just after sunset, with Saturn trailing not far behind, and directly overhead around midnight, with Mars trailing further behind Around 4am, have both above the western horizon and Venus is really bright above the eastern horizon Also have The Crux and Scorpio in all its beauty overhead as well Couple of nights ago,had conjunction of Antares and the moon, and tonight have conjunction of Jupiter and the moon Have attached Heavens-Above, for my location, and you can play with the time to see both Jupiter, Saturn, Mars and Venus transit the southern sky https://www.heavens-above.com/skychart2.aspx?lat=-27.9206&lng=153.28291&loc=Maudsland&alt=0&tz=UCTm10 John

Steve Welcome from Land Down Under With respect to street light, had same issue where I live Supplied the light pole number to our local energy company, and they fitted a shade facing towards my house to shield the amount of light been reflected into my front yard No harm in approaching them John

Been in the Southern Hemisphere, we see things not visible in the from the Northern Hemisphere and vice versa Even with Orion, the belt of Orion is the opposite way around, and the belt is also know as saucepan, including the handle In Australian Indigenous astronomy, the belt of Orion is also known as the canoe John

Agree with @Kyle Allen about the mount Not sure a EQ5pro with SynScan will support the weight of a Skymax 127, which have my ED80 on A HEQ5 definitely will You can then use T-Ring and adapter to attached the your Canon EOS 1100d DSLR You can now also get a WiFi SynScan adapter, and download the SynScan App, which I also have recently purchased John
