Just had a look on Modern astronomy and the wedge has been discontinued and is being replaced with a new product, soon....looks like they will have a new version..... https://www.modernastronomy.com/shop/accessories/mount-accessories/mkiii-eq6wedge/

That wedge has been around for a few years now and it is on the fourth or fith revision, it looks superb, but I think there are a few issues with it, hence it has not taken off like it should have done, Modern Astronomy also used to sell them, (and may still) he will know a lot more about the past issues and whether they are all sorted now..I personally love the idea and have thought about getting one, but for a permanent set up that only gets polar aligned or at least checked once or twice a year, it’s a lot of money....

Surely it’s obvious what the problem is, whay does it have to be returned for them to see that......I have dealt with this retailer before, I wont mention there name, but my experience with them was terrible to be honest, I don’t trust them one bit, they seem to be very lacking of experience, and I certainly would not but a belt modded Mount from them....as that mod is for someone with good skills and patience...

The thing is if you send back that means it’s going to be chucked about by a courier, and when it gets there they will look at it and say “oh yes the bolts are crap” then they will offer to send it back to you again with a new set of bolts and yet again the courier chucks it about and it could get back in a worse state and cause you more hassle.. so wouldn’t it be best to ask them to cover the cost of a new set of bolts instead of sending back and potentially having more issues, if they refuse then, (would be very petty of them to) just send back but, then get a refund and go elsewhere.... :]

Or get the retailer to spend £25 and send you the bolts for free....?.?

You could just ask the retailer in question for a set of the upgraded bolts and to cover the cost of replacing and posting them to you... ??

You are not missing anything obvious, and I totally agree, it should be perfect especially when it is really secondhand as it has been belt mod upgraded, so the least they should have done was replaced those crappy cheese bolts, it should work as intended with CW fitted, if it doesnt then return for refund and but elsewhere...., that is what I would do....

It isnt those bolts that bend, it’s the ALT adjustment ones.... those AZ ones work fine

If it an EQ6 pro with belt upgrade, and you are buying from a dealer, then I know which one it is, and for a dealer to not realise that those bolts are rubbish, is also rubbish, all the dealers know about those crappy bolts, and they were just trying to save money, it’s a very very common fault that most people have and is nothing to do with the way it is set up....

Can’t believe they had done a belt mod on the mount, and left the same crappy adjustment bolts in, that’s unbelieveable.. ?

+1 for APT excellent software with all the functions you will need, and more plus works well with PHD guide software..

I have owned three of the Meade Zero Image Shift focusers and none of the plugs have ever looked like that, hence why I asked whether it was origional....but I guess it could well be, but easy to change......

That doesn't look like the original focuser cable...is it hard wired into the focuser ??if not there are much smaller jack to jack cables with smaller right angle 5mm jack plugs available....
