Yep, me too, maybe up to £800 as it's new, then dropping after a few months. I was hoping to get one when I eventually sell my SE mount, but it may be a rethink and get a HEQ5.

Hi all, Just a quick question hopefully one of you can answer. Does anyone know the diameter of the male thread on the 2" filter? I believe it's either 48 or 49mm, but as I haven't got one yet, I can't measure it myself. I want to know as I also intend to get a stepdown ring for my 50mm camera lens that has a 52mm filter thread so I can use it on that too. Thanks in advance. Ian

Just thought I'd pop this in here. Jessops are selling a Manfrotto carbon fibre tripod with 3-way head for £89.95, was £239.95!!!! Manfrotto Carbon Fibre Tripod + 3-way QR Head - 732CY-A3RC1 - Jessops - Tripods Just done a reserve and collect at Telford as it looks ideal for a portable viewing platform, as well as taking hiking with my camera too. Cheers Ian

It's a shame Brian didn't have Dara O'Briain instead of Ross. I thought Ross was a waste of time on Stargazing Live, as he was on last nights show. At least Dara has a definite interest in astronomy and understands the principles. Ross only appeared as he was bought a scope he had no idea how to use....

Hi Mike, I would have thought that the HDMI port on a netbook was output only, like the camera, and could not receive a signal. Obviously, if I'm wrong, then apologies. Ian

My 1100D came with a software disc that has the Canon EOS Utility on it. Plug camera into laptop via USB, launch the utilty and I get Live View, and a lot of other shooting options including a fairly decent intervalometer option. Pretty darn good for free!

Thanks Mark. Looks like I need to refine my focussing, but I'm happy with it for now.

Well, after making my own solar filter hood for my C80EDR, I thought I had better try it out. Single shot with Canon 1100D.

Not my area of knowledge, but the article says... A decline in solar activity also allows more radiation from other parts of the galaxy to enter the Solar System. Not a full answer, but a start I think?
