I'm converting them using Adobe DNG converter. Before it wouldn't work because I had it set to RAW 7.1 or later, I set it to RAW6.6 and later and it worked. I'll take a look at iridient and see if it works any better for me, I doubt I'll be able to tell the difference though.

Ugh, ok thanks I'll keep that in mind for future astrophotos. DSS puts auto save files in between every photo in my files, it makes it really hard to put it back into DSS and re-stack it.

Thanks, I was suprised how much the noise reduction tool in PS helped. I have a question though, if I wanted to collect more data for this target would I just add the new images to the image I have now, or would I add it to the original un stacked images? Or is there something else I'm supposed to do?

Evostar 80ED for a beginner ?
Galen Gilmore replied to SAW's topic in Getting Started Equipment Help and Advice
Visual and photography don't mix very well, the best for visual (a dob) is terrible for photography. And a good imaging scope might only be mediocre for visual. But I have looked through an ED80 before, and they give very nice crisp views of planets despite the short focal length. But they would struggle on DSO's due to the smaller aperture. A 200p for astrophotography would cause you to have to blow most of your money on the mount. So I think the HEQ5 and an ED80 would be good to start. That also leaves money for eyepieces and other accessories you might want. Of course I'm going off of what others have told me, not off of personal experience. I might have missed something or Mabye I'm completely wrong. But others can probobly help you with this more than me. -

I'm a total newbie at imaging as well, but it would help to know what your budget is. -
Ok thanks, that's what I expected. I can probably go 3-4 months without one.

I'm about to get the 130pds, I'm just starting off with astroimaging. How much coma is prevalent without a corrector?

Not specifically Astro gear, but I just got a Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 lens so I can take some nightscapes no pic though.
