  1. It looks so good! What kind of gear are you putting in there? Saw an EQ6 and a 300mm(?) newton..
  2. This! If you are already using a PC to control things, platesolving should be a top priority. It really takes a lot of the hassle out of it.
  3. Wow kudos for getting all that sorted out! I must admit what you are doing is a bit of a dream for me too, but retirement is at least 30 years off. That setup is looking marvelous! Looking forward to seeing more pictures.
  4. Here is a screengrab of an autostretched masterflat for my Ha filter: So faster scope and 1,25" filters will probably be problematic..
  5. Man seeing that image on my work pc... Background really sucks! I can find a flat no problem, I am still working out how to best calibrate the data in APP.
  6. So I've had the chance to do some work with my replaced Hypercam 1600M over easter, and I must say it has performed very well. I can't wait to try it out on some nebulae after the summer. :) Attached is a very short 75minute RGB of M3 in pretty much full moon which shows in the background noise..
  7. I look forward to hear how the installation goes.. It looks pretty complicated on the EQ6 vs the HEQ5.
  8. Come to think of it.. I also switched from high siderial rates of 0.9 to lower rates of 0.6 on both axis.
  9. I saw a pretty large improvement when I switched guide cameras. I am now using my old imaging cam, imx183 chip with it's tiny 2.4um pixels to guide through a zwo 60mm guide scope. This means I nearly have identical resolution on my imaging as my guiding. Was getting 0.5 to 0.6 regularly on an unmodded EQ6 over 3 days during Easter, using the predictive pec algorithm. Seeing was good though..
  10. What was tricky about sing the DSLR for color? Noise?
  11. Glad you stuck with it, that looks great. I've read that it can be hard to focus at F2, so I guess practice makes perfect? Also shout-out for a fellow NINA users. ?
  12. Honestly that went better than I would have expected. ? Would you care to elaborate a little on software used and method, were there any particular problems? Lovely image btw.
  13. Good job on removing the stars! I find that some starless images look really "dramatic" for lack of a better word, and this one certainly doesn't dissapoint either. Beautiful image, thanks for sharing!
  14. NINA has some basic functionality for running multiple cameras. In short it has synchronized dithering, and I think it will support x amount of cameras..
  15. Beautiful galaxy and amazing details with all the luminance integration, it is a shame you can't get more color data, but it can be added next year. I also really like your processing, I would be stoked with that result. ?
  16. Nicely done! A beautifyl galaxy, and I am always amazed at the amount of detail can be seen in that thing band of dust.
  17. What do they claim it will do? What sensor are they basing their cam off of?
  18. Yeah not a bad idea actually, would be interesting.. Once I have a working camera that is.
  19. Yeah I know, but this one was on me.. I hope it lives up to expectations, but I guess there is always a risk when you are an early adopter of a new product.
  20. I've read stuff elsewhere from people claiming to be in "the know" who say that the manufacturers are doing clever things like changing clock speeds, switching off electronics during readout, etc.. So it sounds like it could be possible to make an impact on amp glow.. But yeah.. I assume at this point that there is some faulty electronics at work here within the camera.
  21. Alright I might have misspoken there, what I meant was that it looked like it had less amp glow than a dark frame from QHY/ZWO with the same exposure length. In reality there are many more variables to consider, so I will amend my previous comment as I can't know unless I have all three cameras... Which I don't. Sorry about that! The point I was trying to make is: It should not look / behave as it currently does!
  22. Little update: Issue seems to be with my camera - final light leak test tonight, but I fully expect it to fail this as well, meaning it is probably a faulty electronic component. I have seen some darks from another camera from the same batch, and it has less looks like it has less amp glow than both ZWO and QHY examples I have seen online. by all accounts .
  23. Yeah Nick mentioned this too, but it was also facing down into an oak table.. It must be a camera issue..
