  1. Yes great news indeedy ... fingers crossed for some more views of that bright thing ! Brian
  2. Stunning refractor John if ever there was one !!! ? Peter I think using a 1.25 wedge on a 220mm refractor with a (daystar erf ?) is nuts ... but I'm sure did break a 1.25 aperture record !!!! Brian
  3. Not nearly as cool looking as the chic Baader ?but a very interesting piece of kit ... viewing angle could be an issue for some though. Brian
  4. These quads offer much more though .... it's hard to discribe but they do offer up colours (not false) that are just not discernible with other EDs & triplets .... they are FS killers (did I really say that ?) and with only about 12 or 15 ever made have real legendary status imho. Brian
  5. No not i Chris .... an amazing scope though and a most fortunate new owner plus I'm sure your wondering how it could be much better than say an FPL53 but it was as I owned/was using an equinox at that time and place ! Brian
  6. Gone !! ... I had the pleasure of looking through one of these some years back and can honestly say that the views were extraordinary ... the likes of which I'm unlikely to forget ... it had also been sorted by Es Brian
  7. Mmmm not seen that before on the etalon window .... will check mine .... hope you can get it all resolved. Brian
  8. 1 of 1 objects completed ... the Sun ☀️

  9. From memory if you look to the night sky with pure CaF2 (fluorite) optics everything suddenly becomes a dark velvet black ! Objects then stand out ... colours and structures can be seen that were previously invisible , a modern equivalent could be using an OLED v an LED TV (whoops wrong forum ?) Brian
  10. Outstanding & Congrats on the acquisition ... just the best that is all ? Brian
  11. That 90 Degree erecting prism is tres expensive but what I've considered recently is .... In the HIFI world the correct chain of importance is 1. Source .... CD player or Turntable 2. Amplifier 3. Speakers So it stands that in the Astronomy world the correct chain of importance would be 1. Telescope / Optics 2. Diagonal 3. Eyepiece Now many will happily spend hundreds on an EP but only around £100 on a diagonal I suggest that this may be an error as the diagonal in the chain is actually more important than the EP Brian
