  1. Hi, Im closing this post and I think I might not come back on a while, I have already fixed this but thank you anyway LastTry.TIF I got this from a 100 picture 1 second exp time,
  2. Hi, I have a problem with DSS. When I stack my images of like Pleaides "M45" I get images with no "stardust" in it. Is it because im using darks and bios images because when I don't I get pretty good images but verry noisy and bad images. LastTryTwo.TIFLastTryTwo.TIF I am wondering do enyone know a solution for this?
  3. Hello! I went out today not knowing that I didn't have much time but still I snapped some long exposure photos. I took about 40 photos with 10 seconds exposure ISO 400. When I stacked them I got this awesome photo "Vega Processed" that you can find In the attached images. Also I snapped like 10 photos with 10 second exposure ISO 1600 on the cigar galaxy and got the best stack I've ever gotten. Still The Vega picture could be better then the Cigar Galaxy because of the sharpness In the Vega picture. But still the Cigar Galaxy is awesome! Why I posted this is because Im just saying that now I think Im ready to take on the big universe with my "small telescope" and that I will return If I ever have more problems (probably) or else if I don't have Im probably going to return when I know more and have explored space and maybe help others to get going with their telescope and so on.
  4. Thanks for all the answers ? Fist off the second Image as Knight Of Clear Skies is right on the not aligning part. I discoverd that my bios files was in JPEG and DSS does not support the JPEG file for bios if im right. So DDS gave me this error that it would not align. Im going to try again with a raw bios instead of JPEG. I think It's going to work or Im just wrong... And thanks Filroden for the info! Sadly again we here in Skellefteå have a snow period so I can't see much stars at the night ? But the next time I get a chance on a clear sky Im doing a polar alignment and take probebly 100 10 second Images. Also Im going to rotate the camera 45-90 degrees. Yes jarraman I used GIMP 2 for removing the red background noise that DSS didn't remove. Thanks for the answers again... XD ?
  5. Hello again again... My t-ring came yeasterday! Yay! So. I checked last night if it was clear outside and it was! It hasn't been clear weather the last month. So I rushed out and got like 50 photos of M45 (Pleiades) and some of Vega I think... So I got some nice pictures on M45 (Pleiades) and this is how it turns out after I stack it. I kinda like it but the stars is not in formation of Pleiades... Is it something wrong? I manually tracked the stars so it could be one problem but DeepSkyStacker fixes the problem by lining up the pictures, right? Because the edited picture lookes nothing like the Pleiades for me. Is it because the image is flipped or something like that? Also, about how long total exposure do I need to get a decent picture on Pleiades because the Edited picture is 50 pictures with 1 sec exposure that is stacked. Do I need like 50 10 second exposures to get the blue "stardust" around it to show up. Also I came up with the problem that my Edited picture became red after stacking. Just a guess that my bios files wasn't working with DeepSkyStacker... Sorry if im not really clear because im Swedish so my English isn't on top XD.
  6. Hello. Im new in this astrophotography thing but let's see If I can understand everything. Recently I've bought a Skywatcher explorer 150 pds for taking pictures of DSOs. It came with T2 adapter so If I got everything right I need to buy a T2 ring for my Olympus E 420 camera and put the t ring on the camera. Then put the T2 adapter on the t ring and then just screw it in place where the eyepiece is. Then also a extra lens in the T2 adapter for focus? Now maybe I got everything right or everything wrong. Please help me before I go buy it.
  7. Thanks for all the answers, I have sadly no clear sky for the next 10 days so yea. I won't be able to get to a less light polluted area because like acey said Im in Skellefteå in sweden and I live in Drängsmark that is a small village 2 and a half mile out from Skellefteå. After about 23.00 they shut of the street light and the sky goes clear. My main goal was to photograph DSOs If I wasn't clear from the beginning. I don't don't care about Planets I just don't seem them as facenating as DSOs. The only problem I have now is trying to find a T-ring to my Olympus E-420 and I say it was though. But I think I found one. Anyways thanks for the tip that I should change my shutter speed on the camera but the E-420 has a max of 60 so let's see how it goes. Im going to try my best to find a dark place and try again but I don't think that's gonna happen soon because the weather gods don't like me... I'm going to get a T-ring and adapter and snap some 60 sec pictures If I can get the T-ring soon. Thanks for all the help and wow Im impressed that I got response so quick. Thanks for the help and I will hopefully return with some good pictures! -William I will try to stack the photos I get but I don't know much about stacking XD
  8. Hello. I have recently bought a Skywatcher explorer-150pds for some deep sky photography and observation. The only problem I've had is that i won't see much deep sky objects and the best I've seen through the telescope is a blurry M31 Andromeda. I am wondering If my telescope Isn't that good for deep sky observation. I've not been able to watch Jupiter, Saturn or any kind of planet yet. The only thing is the moon. Can someone please tell me If i got the wrong type of telescope! -William Btw the picture of the moon is with my Sony Xperia through the telescope.
