  1. @Stub Mandrel. Which type of eq 3 do you use? Goto or with ra motor drive?
  2. But isn't drift alignment done with a goto mount?
  3. I think this is a good place to post my question. To start with I have a eq 3 mount with ra motor drive and no polar scope. I got 3mins exposure with a 50mm lense. I am thinking of using a Astele 95mm makustove for lunar, solar and hopefully some bright dso. I know that f ratio is too much. I may use a 150/1200 reflector. Question 1- how can I improve the polar alignment without a polar scope 2- with the 150/1200 scope how much second exposure can I expect. 3- have I provided the necessary details? Thankyou Raj£$#
  4. i hate them and also like them actually. depends of what type of object im shooting. like clusters, i hate spikes.
  5. now im confused on what to buy after reading this forum 130pds or evostar 80ed
  6. You shot it at 300mm? Great image! Stars look good also. You should have taken more subs but of 2mins.my opinion I may not be the best Clear skies
  7. It will a lot. At first you had to remove the l bracket to use polar illuminator now you have the adapter
  8. Looks like they now supply the adapter for the illuminator.
  9. I was shooting the Nan with 4sec exposure at my camp site shot about 500.when I reached home I realized I didn't shoot in raw but in jpeg. Wasted my time. I'll still check if pixinsight will process it and upload the result. Will there be any problem if jpeg images are stacked?
  10. I won't mind if you'll suggest a few companies. I'll prefer skywatcher and orion stuff. As celestron is not easily available in my country.
  11. OK so basically dobsonian is most suitable for observation right?. My mirror and tube are a bit damaged due to little rough usewhen I was a beginner. My budget is 1000 $ Idont have any problem to use a manual or automatic (goto) both are fun their own ways.
  12. Hi. My current setup is 6''newtonian on a eq3,mount. My scope is becoming old and the mount is getting rusty. I now want to upgrade it. Can youll recommend me a new scope? Anything works, dobsonian, refractor, reflector and Schmidt cassigrane. Thankyou
  13. @Slynxx thanks for the image. Indeed the tracking seems to be great. What object is that? Milky way?
  14. I'll say it's faulty I didn't get time to test mine bit my knobs and gears seem to been smooth and lock properly.
  15. If I go to a place where I cannot see the poles star(ie it's behind a tree) but cassiopeia or Ursa major can be seen. I there a way to polar align the star adventurer in this situation?
  16. Thanks dave. I was wondering if we can use another camera to autoguide (a dslr). I don't know if we can do that. Can we?
  17. Is it necessary to use a illuminator? How do I check the unguided tracking of the mount? Do I need a autoguider?
  18. I will be placing the order for this mount and my first deep sky mount to use with my 55_250lens. Can you'll post a few images taken from this mount please. how long is the exposure with I connect the camera to the mount? Can I check the unguided tracking without an autoguider and just with PhD?
