Seen some interesting images of Venus using a 850 filter, look forward to seeing what you manage

Some very detail there Kon, very tricky imaging Venus and revealing anything other than the phase.

Two photos, two moments, the same place!

Spot on with your observations Avani, i have captured this area many times over the years. Never had an image i have truly happy with, but that is what keeps me coming back to imaging 🙂 -

SGL 2023 Challenge 1 - Walking on the Moon
Pete Presland replied to MartinB's topic in SGL Challenges and Competitions
While i was missing the aurora display, in the north behind my house, i was catching a few Lunar targets in some reasonable conditions. All captured on the 26th Feb. I don't think i have ever imaged the crater Boussingault before, it looked really cool with the layers around the rim through the scope. Favourable libration helped i think tilt it in to a decent position. C9.25, ASI174MM, 642 Filter, X3 Barlow. Best 10% of a 90 second capture. -

SGL 2023 Challenge 1 - Walking on the Moon
Pete Presland replied to MartinB's topic in SGL Challenges and Competitions
The crater Petavius from the from the 21st Feb again. Just off the terminator of the waning Moon, not something i image enough to be honest. Captured with my C9.25, Asi174mm and X3 Barlow. 10,000 frames stacking 20% -
SGL 2023 Challenge 1 - Walking on the Moon
Pete Presland replied to MartinB's topic in SGL Challenges and Competitions
The dionysius crater is relatively small, but the dark rays surrounding it i find fascinating. I have imaged once before a few years back, this image is from the almost full waning Moon from the 21st Feb. Imaged under Full Moon conditions, really shows the dark rays very nicely. Captured with my C9.25, Asi174mm and X3 Barlow. 10,000 frames stacking 20% -
Mars and C/2022 E3 (ZTF) on Friday 10/02/2023
Pete Presland replied to NenoVento's topic in Celestial Events Heads Up
Thanks for the update, it will be interesting to see it pass by Mars . I watched it last night through my C9.25. It really is moving quickly in relation to the back ground stars. -
Saw it again last night, still an easy spot despite the full moons best efforts 🙂

COMET C/2022/ E3 (ZTF) - UPDATE
Pete Presland replied to paulastro's topic in Celestial Events Heads Up
It has been a pleasure following Comet c/2022/E3 (ztf) the past couple of weeks. Amazing how much of the sky it has crossed in such a short time. Not managed to see any hint of colour through my binoculars yet. -
I saw it again on Wednesday morning, i thought it seemed a little duller and more diffuse than a couple of days previously. That may have been down to the sky conditions though.
-
I have one permanently attached to my Asi224mc.

Pete Presland replied to Stu's topic in Celestial Events Heads Up
Caught them in the bino's last night, but very foggy here today. not sure it will lift this time to give a chance of seeing them at their closest.
