  1. Hi guys, havent posted for a while and was hoping to get abit of advice, im looking at getting a little scope to take to the mother inlaws caravan in scarborough as we've started spending quite some time there and would save me some time and space if i just purchased one for there, ive been offered a celestron nexstar 102 slt for a really good price and just wondered what they are actually like performance and durability wise, any info would be greatly apprecieted, thanks in advance. Clear skys
  2. Hey everyone, i just wondered what people's views would be towards Newtonian reflectors and refraction telescopes when it comes to Astrophotography. I'm looking into buying a new scope and staring my journey in astrophotography and as I already have a reflector I'm thinking of buying a refractor as I've seen this is more the preferred type. All comments are welcome and really look forward to everyone's views on the two scopes, Thankyou in advance.
  3. Hi, I know this might be abit of a long shot but is it possible to see galaxies and nebula through a celestron astromaster 130eq? Thankyou
  4. I don't have a camera at the moment but was looking into buying one my buget would be around £200-£400, where would be the best place to have a look around?
  5. The diameter of the scope is 165mm would I be able to buy one that isn't made for my scope to fit?
  6. Hi, I'm relatively new to this and and due to seeing conditions around me recently I haven't had my scope out for a while, now the clear sky's are hopefully on the arrival I wanted to expand my set, I have plenty of lenses and filters and I'm struggling to find a solar filter for my astromaster 130eq, I've checked to obvious places (amazon/eBay) but can't find one to fit if anyone can recommend anywhere I can find on would be a great help. Also if anyone could guide me in the right direction into a decent type of camera that would suit my scope would be great, thankyou in advance.
  7. Thankyou all for your advice and input, i have a 25mm, 15mm, 10mm a 6mm and the Barlow lens I also have a few filters, I have used all the eyepieces with the Barlow and the all work perfectly when looking at the moon aswel as the Barlow with the 6mm, being new to astronomy I didn't account for seeing conditions and think this could have been the problem as Saturn was close to the horizon at the time, my area hasn't really had any good clear nights to be able to see much more
  8. Hi, I recently bought a celestron astromaster 130eq and bought a lens kit to go with it, it included a x2 barlow lens and a 6mm plossl eyepiece and I've been getting some great views of Saturn the past couple of nights with the other lens' but focusing seems somewhat impossible with these two, could it be that the magnification of these to combined are too powerful for my 5 inch scope? Any help would be most appreciated, thanks in advance.
