  1. Thanks for the help all - I took a look at it, it's a Meade 102mm achro. Had a bad experience with a Meade frac previously so left it. Cheers! A
  2. Hi all I'm thinking of buying this scope, going to look at it today, but can anyone identify the model/make/brand? I don't recognise it at all, it has a TS focusser but if the scope was TS I assume it would be branded as such (?). Any help appreciated! Thanks Andrew
  3. Hi I've just bought a custom built 150mm f10 refractor. The build quality is good, Edmund Scientific lens, Celestron focuser, nicely baffled, but I've tried it out tonight and have been disappointed. Using a trusted 25mm TAL plossl, I can't seem to "snap" into focus and the image is just a bit blurry. There's quite a bit of CA. I thought it would be relatively crisp and contrasty at f10. I've used many refractors before and have never had this problem - could it be a collimation issue? Am also using a new diagonal for the first time (StellaMira dielectric), so is that the likely culprit? Any ideas welcome! Thanks Andrew
  4. Brilliant, thanks very much!! Tightened up the three screws in the housing, fixed it a treat 👍🙂
  5. Hi, Just bought a lovely Tal2M, but it appears to have a part missing on the mount. Does anyone know what belongs in this threaded hole? The axis moves freely otherwise and is unusable ☹️ I've tried a standard 5mm bolt and it does nothing. Thanks! Andrew
  6. Hi I wonder if anyone might help solve a problem with a Bresser hexafoc unit that I’ve just received. Turning the focus knobs does nothing and upon disassembly I note that the rack has retreated up the barrel so far that it is disengaged from the pinion. I’ve undone every screw but can’t get the focussing tube to move at all so cant reengage the rack with the pinion. I attach some pictures; any ideas on how to fix this? with many thanks Andrew
