  1. Try here, hope that helps https://spotthestation.nasa.gov/sightings/view.cfm?country=United_Kingdom&region=England&city=London
  2. It got into Space, Hot separation worked and more. The Ship and Booster was always not coming home in my opinion, if it had then they would be further ahead than expected. This is all a notable success in the development of this Space System
  3. That was an amazing test, well done Space X. Clearly the data will show perhaps where it failed, but its a test and failure is part of that. The thing is the stack of boosters etc already built.
  4. I am sure one of my medications has this side effect mentioned, if not I will just write it in anyway 😉 You have to make others aware of these after all.
  5. Observatory is coming along fine Michael, love the roof design. Also really like the mirrored door effect on the fence, nice visual trick to extend the garden.
  6. Interesting about the pinion as my ED103 Lazarus will benefit from a new one.
  7. Only just seen this post Rob, sounds like you had a pleasant time with the 150 f8. I often ponder these scopes as they are clearly most capable. I recall when I was getting scope buying fever, many years ago, a local chap showed me various targets in a Tal1, a Tasco f5 and another much older 6" f8 or perhaps longer, at that time the long scope looked to my inexperienced eye a monster. But what a view to behold.
  8. The scopes I have came with flatter plastic knob bolts for the rings, but they can foul a Vixen shoe if a longer one is in use. They also supply a pair of dome headed screws to replace the knobs with if desired. This is all set out in the ED/SD Instructions.
  9. Clearly Newts or OOUK are not of interest folks or bad timing on my post. I will wait to see one at the PAS if OOUK are attending.
  10. I was glancing on the OOUK website and note a new arrival, odd colour but a nice revision on the cell design perhaps. Anyone seen one in the wild?
  11. Post here is reliable and daily with a regular team of delivery persons, any missed mail is easily collected at the local office. I do note that its slower at times, but within the system, not at the local delivery end. Last year has an RMSD parcel sit at the Post Office it was sent from for a week before it went into the system! But on the main, fast and reliable. Let's face it you could use one of the tainted named delivery firms and it would be far more a lottery for it to arrive undamaged or at all!
  12. Mike how could you slip over to the dark side 😉😉
  13. Guilty as charged your honour, it’s the need to try something else that does it, curiosity. However presently under control due to finances.
  14. Nice, not heard of these before, presume this was acquired while you were in the US. Looks a great set up on your SW pier with the APZ.
  15. @The60mmKid looking through the site and seen your pier mounted newt, is that a mark newt and what is it. Just being curios really.
  16. I was drawn as I at the time did not want to join a club.... I met friendly folks online, I asked stupid questions and got mainly sensible answers back 😉 Its a friendly place where folks like to share the joy of whichever direction your astronomy takes you. That friendly place lead me to an Astronomy club near home, new friends and somehow over the years ended up on the committee of it. (Full circle). I have met a number of folks from here in person, who I consider friends. Long may SGL remain the calm, friendly, ego free place that it is.
  17. The atmosphere, the view and the sounds firstly. Often followed by Roibos Tea (just like @DirkSteele), which is caffeine free and a taste acquired by working on a desk opposite two South Africans.
  18. Great images Paul and interesting to read your journey in achieving them. As a visual only observer I always enjoy the wonders imaging can produce.
  19. Hello Andy and welcome to the forum. No help on Astro Imaging as I am a pure visual astronomer only. I understand why down size from a nice 10" may feel a bit tough, but with some of the kit now available, I am sure if your purse will stretch you will enjoy. My most used kit is a pair of 10x50 Binos.
  20. Nice to see @mikeDnight has received a mug with a self portrait on it, what placing was that 1st 2nd or 3rd? Very nice 20mm for that 150 and the Dob @Saganite
  21. This is great to see the AZ75 being so well used with such a variety of scopes. And to think the noise made to me and @Stu over no slow motions etc. I still love my AZ75 and it’s the mount of choice for me.
  22. Congratulation Nigella. You will soon need a trophy cabinet for them, clearly not going to be used.
  23. Ed, As you said looked good, It was clear as it got dark, then clouds all over as darkness fell. I am not so fed up with my lot now, I couldn't have observed even if I wanted to 😉
