    For the last few years, I have been referring my Vixen mount a GP/DX, only to find out today it is purely the GP.

      I have come across this before Philip.
      A chap had a scope and GP mount on eBay a while back, listed as GPDX.  It was a GP mount.
      Confused as the instruction manual say Geat Polaris / GPDX mount.
      So he read it as a GPDX also call Great Polaris/GPDX.

    Thinking hard about a rich man’s AZGTi . The concept is exactly right but the execution is too cost-focused. How about x2 times the imaging capacity, same size, but with much more refined mechanics, transmission, servomotors and encoders. For x2 times current retail price

      But it would be tempting to many I should think.

    Forecast looks great for tonight, first clear night since receiving my new scope. Just the small matter of a 12 hour night shift getting in the way :(

      Chris I feel your pain, I was lucky enough to get 45 minutes of lunar in as it got dark, home early but work to do for a big meeting on Monday and a full weekend.

      Work, such an inconvenience at times.

    Merry Christmas and clear skies for the new year to all my friends on SGL.  I'm hoping next year I get more of a balance between work commitments, the availability of clear skies, family and observing - observing time has definitely tailed off alarmingly over the last few months!
