  1. This was a very low ISO (100) - I took this a good month ago and then I always used Iso 100 (didn't know a whole lot about imaging then Living in London means that you cannot go higher than ISO 1250 - the sky will be washed out. The subs which I took with CLS filter were ISO 1250 and 80 second exposures. All of this were taken with a Canon EOS 60d. Thanks again, this thread has been very helpful in terms of imaging. seb
  2. Sorry for the misunderstanding - it was about 50 80 second expoures Wim, that is really helpful. I was very puzzled when the Orion nebula came out with an hour of 30 second subs and was not even close to the 30 mins of 80 second exposures. Here is a single sub with out the CLS filter. I will try in RAW next time though. Thanks, seb
  3. Hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me with some shots I took of The Pleiades a couple of nights ago . This was the final shot - but I don't seem to be getting any dust around the stars even with a stretch. This is an hour exposure with an astronomik CLS filter on a EQ3 with an 150PDS. Thanks, Seb
  4. How the weather forecast can be amazingly wrong:icon_biggrin:! I'm imaging now in a cloudless sky:happy7:

  5. I just wanted to ask you a quick question about wavelets on registax. When I do manage to sharpen an image of the moon, it has a white circle around it. Do you know anything about this? It is quite faint but it's still noticeable. Thanks, Seb

hi Seb ,it means you have over done it a bit on the wavelets, on the right of registax theres denoise and deringing, you can use that to dering the image, but the best way is to reduce the wavelets.  charl.

Hope you get some great views there. Sadly cloudy last night here, so hoping that tonight might be clear to view them. :)

Shame. The meteor shower was not that great in Canada after all. I saw max 10-15 in 30 mins:hmh:

  8. Up definitely for solar imaging today. How bout you?

Dismall and depressing viewing. Iceland played with more passion and heart than I've seen from England players for years. Well done Iceland. They deserved to win. England deserve nothing but scorn and ridicule really for their abysmal performance!

  10. Found an opening in the clouds today! I stole it, just about! With these:

this is what that disc looks like with 60 frames staxed, notice we start to get suface detail. and its more contrasty, i would then put it in photoshop for colour and final adjustment and croping.3-19 full adj.png
