  1. Observing it just now and it truly is awe-inspiring. Thank you for a beautiful photograph.
  2. Having said what I just said, I read this and maybe BST is the way to go. What a can of worms! Maybe I should just flip a coin?
  3. Thanks for the advice. I think if the optical quality is very similar, I'd probably be happier spending a few extra quid for the better finish of the X-Cel LX. I've just been out looking through the "Super 25" which came with the scope and I must say, it's not half bad. Ought I to expect to notice significant improvement with the X-Cel LX 25mm?
  4. Has anyone got any thoughts about the BST Explorer ED series vs. the Celestron X-Cel LX series?
  5. Do you mean skies unlimited? http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/skies_unlimited
  6. Is anyone able to offer some suggestions as to an eyepiece upgrade for my Heritage 130P? It came with a pretty OK 25mm eyepiece (and a less OK 10mm) and I've invested in a Celestron Omni 2 x Barlow and a Omni 15mm eyepiece. But I'm hoping to find a better quality eyepiece to replace the generic 25mm. Ideally I'd like something in the 25-20mm range - soemthing with a wide FoV for Deep Sky (mainly galaxies) observing. Thanks for your input.
  7. Thanks for the suggestions. I did indeed observe some of the DSOs you suggest last time I was there. For the benefit of the person I am visiting, I was hoping to show him some galaxies as he is always amazed by truly distant objects. I missed M83 last time I was there as TLAO fails to mention it. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for other galaxies accessible with 70mm binoculars. Thanks.
  8. I am heading to Cape Town in February with a pair of 11 X 70 binoculars. Apart from M83, LMC and SMC, can anyone advise me on suitable galaxies to be targeting? Many thanks.
