A quick search came up with a mains adapter that Explore sell for your mount, 12volt 5Amp.

And the scope spec says 12V 2Amp.

I'd be conservative and go for at least 3Amps.

amazing, I'd found the spec of the PSU, but I was coming up with a blank with the actual rated draw, my google-fu failed me.

    Thanks for that Michael!

  2. I think I've outgrown the D-Cell battery holder that came with my mount and I'm looking at getting a lithium battery bank, I know the current consumption of the rest of my kit, however I can't find a reference for my Exos II anywhere online, can anyone else on here put me out of my misery please?

I really don't want to butcher a lead to get a clamp meter on it.

    Thanks,

    Matt H

  3. you don't need to buy the branded conductive thread, a lot of the 'silver' embroidery threads you can get are conductive. I tested a whole load with my meter when my Mum wanted to sew LEDs into some quilts she was making. She never got round to making the quilts, so I'm glad that afternoon wasn't entirely wasted.

  4. Woohoo!

It arrived, after a little bit of fiddling in the Ubuntu WiFi settings I was able to get a rock solid connection to the mount, and with some extra fiddling around in the terminal I was able to expose the web interface for the PMC-Eight's onboard WiFi Module, hopefully this'll mean I can put the thing into Client Mode and have it run as a device on my network...

Thanks for exposing me to this mount @Lockie

  5. Hi all,

I've been trying to ask some questions about AstroEQ on the forums there and no one appears to be approving my request for membership, nor do they appear to be producing any astrEQ boxes currently.

This is quite frustrating, as if there was hardware available to buy, I'd probably buy it, also if I could get some questions answered I'd build a DIY version out of my big pile of 3d Printer bits, this is most frustrating.

    Is this project still alive?

    Cheers,

    Matt H

  6. Just plucked up the courage to slacken off the Dec axis off on my EQ3-2 thanks for this, my scope is a lot easier to balance now! Thanks for posting this Badgers.
