  1. I agree, so i suppose i have to give Mark his dews that he is bringing more competition to the market, and as a result i see he has stiff competition from Gemini, as i think someone posted that they are doing a mount <3000 euro / £ so it benefits us all.
  2. To be fair - I can admit when i'm wrong and when i've maybe taken the joke too far. Hopefully when the mounts arrive then they will all work perfectly and everyone will be happy.
  3. AngryDonkey / Alaine, you make fair points in that i've maybe taken it a little to far, but it was meant as tongue in cheek, But I would like to point out that I have never once accused him of being a Thief as has been suggested. I'm happy to sit back and just see how this thing unfolds without further comment to clam the waters as i can see that it is upsetting some forum members, which i dont want to do. And for those of you that i have upset - I apologise.
  4. David, did you ever buy the unc scope as I'm interested in buying one.
  5. Mark@JTW, how about you just reply to me on the forum instead of sending me messages via facebook and start by telling people the exact date they are getting their mounts, and when they receive them on the date you specify, then i'll stop making fun of JTW
  6. I think it's just more BS to buy more time. They have been testing for the last year just about and each time there is always a different excuse for the delay. Are you really going to trust a company like JTW if you have any problems - I can see it now.........yes mr Smith your repaired mount is really on its way to you.......3 years later......well mr Smith, your repair has been delayed again as there was another solar flare that stopped us from shipping again
  7. Anyway back to JTW - I see it's still all quiet on the Western front - not a peep out of anyone yet.
  8. Very odd looking mount - not sure why they dont just give the price with the control hardware. Personally dont like the idea of a mount without encoders as it makes it a pain in the butt every time you release the clutches.
  9. So how much did you pay for the 10" F4 with the Baader focuser as i was just thinking the same thing bout the baader instead of the Moonlite ?
  10. I got back in touch with him, and he initially said he could do me a newt for around £2000 after i explained that my budget was £2500, afterwards he suddenly realised that i wanted an imaging newt and said he would need to go away an re-price it, and after a few days he came back with a price of £3600 At which i kindly declined his offer and reminded him of my original budget of £2500
  11. Ive never heard of that mount before - is this another JTW scope or made by someone else. Have you got a link ?
  12. Yeah, i keep going back to the ONTC - I think maybe the 10" F4 - I wanted a 12" F4 @ 1200mm but the 12" ONTC is out of my budget, but Lacerta do a 12" F4 for 2690 Euro - So i'm torn between the 10" ONTC and the 12" Lacerta as both will be around the same price by the time i add the focuser to the ONTC
  13. Well 1 year later i still cant decide between the ONTC or the Lacerta scopes. Who thought that spending money on new scope could be so difficult.
  14. Hi, I've just bought this coma corrector - and i intend to connect it directly to my QSI camera, and based on imaging at 1m F/L the working distance is 56mm. The outer flange on camera is 50mm from the sensor so i need to add in an additional 6mm. So am i right in reading this, that the included adaptor adds 3mm, so i need to add in an additional 3mm ?
  15. Anyone received their Ogem / Trident / Mesu clone yet ? @phill76 It makes me laugh that they saying they are doing final testing and putting final touches to mount as they said that back in July 2019 https://www.facebook.com/jtwastronomy/posts/successful-testing-of-our-trident-telescope-mount-100-kg-payload-friction-drivet/2282542351801323/ Maybe after they have done their Final Final touches, people might start to get their mounts for xmas.
  16. I really hope this mounts all work without issues, as God forbid you have to try and sort any issues with jtw.
  17. I was due to buy a scope from jtw when I got a message from a known APM distributor who warned me against this. He said that jtw had been contracted to do work for APM and did not honor the contractual obligations and was in the process of being taken to court. I have no way of verifying if this was true, but for an apm reseller to go to the effort to warn me suggests that there may have been some element of truth to the story as mark did mention to me at one point that he did work for apm.
  18. Well despite what it looks like - it's nice to see that peop,e might finally get a mount they paid for, even if it does look like a Mesu clone I really hope it works well for those early adopters -
  19. Hi Michael, Thanks for the link but it didn't seem to work for me. Luckily i managed to find a guide on how to do it with exactly my setup (e.g. Cartes Du Ceil, Eqmod & Phd22). I'm trying it now and capturing some subs so i'll see how it turns out. But boy is this comet tiny in 102mm frac running at 571mm F/L - I can clearly see that i'm going to need a big scope with lots of focal length at the moment and then switch to a scope shorter focal length as it gets closer. Many Thanks, Rich.
  20. Hi All, I want to try imaging a go on C/2019 Y4 Atlas, but i've never been very successful Imaging comets. So would be grateful if someone could tell me the correct tracking rates for this comet and how to add them into Eqmod. Many Thanks, Richard.
  21. Hi All, Just looking to build a new imaging rig and wondered if anyone out there is using the ESATTO 2" robotic microfocuser. I like the look of this focuser for use with a 10" / 12" Skywatcher Quattro but i can't find a single review of the product anywhere on the internet, which is odd as you normally have review even if they are bad. Cheers, Richard.
  22. Well i tried to give the image another Whir - and this time i dialled back the processing a bit, so as not to make it look "Over-Processed". I'm a lot happier with the 2nd attempt as it looks a lot more natural.
  23. Well i officially give up - I reside myself to the fact that i'm rubbish at image processing. This is the best i could muster No matter how many guides i read - i'm really struggling to nail my workflow and get one that works for me and produces half decent results.
  24. Hi Wim, I might have accidentally integrated the 120s lums instead of the 300s ones, as i had planned to try my hand at HDR integration at a lter date once i understood the basic, so i did 120 & 300s on the Lum Subs It might explain why the image still looks a bit flat when i process it. I'm going to redo my calibration
  25. Wornish, how did you get the almost 3d effect on the galaxy. When i'm processing it comes out looking very flat, whilst your version looks like it has a bit of depth to it. Cheers, Rich
