  1. I'm very much liking the look of this. Thanks for the review John.
  2. Nicely sketched Mike considering the aircraft Vomit.
  3. Nowt as fancy as owmuches or Paul's but here's my twopenneth. First on a cheap webcam and the newt next at a dslr job with the frac. Last November I think
  4. You have the images that trump mate, I didn't see the Mercury transit at all thanks to work n clouds, all I could do was dip into Ibbo's live stream periodically.
  5. Well why not, twas my first year of Solar imaging too. Very much a learner so don't laugh. Or laugh if you like, I can take it, it very much boggles my brain that I'm capable of doing any of this imaging stuff Onwards to better things in 2017! In no particular order. 11/07/16. My very first Solar image (not that you'd know if I didn't tell you what it was), iPhone up to the EP, took some video and somehow managed to get it to stack. 08/10/16 I think. AR2599 close up. My first decent close up. 09/08/16. Lots of spots, well, for me at the time anyway. 08/10/2016. Really good day for seeing. 01/09/16. Rather like this one too. And a closeup the same day.
  6. That's a great find John, I'm very envious I always have an eye out at the car boot for scopes 'n' bins but to date I've found nothing. A friend of the family found a Tal-1 recently which he gave to our niece and I get views with that so I mustn't complain really. Good luck cleaning her up.
  7. I don't know why but I've not paid any attention to this thread, a wonderful collection of images that really push the boundaries of what the equipment can do, amazing
  8. I loved 2000AD, my absolute favourite series being Nikolai Dante.
  9. Oh dear, I'm not sure either is good frankly, although I think the former should have happened years ago. I'm making claims that I don't think I'll be able to support quite frankly so scrutinise away my friend. Enjoy Prometheus, it is good.
  10. I've never been sanctioned before and I don't propose to start now. Can't help being a master imager can I!
  11. Hot on the heals of yesterday's success I give you.... Venus.. I'm particularly fond of the green hue.
  12. Didn't say he had to be in a field, just not my field
  13. Thank you Stu and give it a try it takes a bit longer but it's less hit and miss.
  14. Why you dirty rat trying to get me disqualified . Any expert in the field of smartphone imaging will tell you PS Express is a Phone app. You clearly don't belong in this field
  15. Here's a serious entry. 130mm reflector, 8mm Hyperion EP, 2.5x Revelation Barlow, iPhone 6s handheld with no adapter or anything fancy like that. Sharpened, noise reduction and contrast/shadows/highlights in PS Express on said iPhone. Quite pleased with these. The thing to do is set it recording 4k video at 30fps, find your position and try to hold it as long as possible to get some good frames. Then scrub through the video looking for the best frame, take a screenshot of that and process the screenshot in PS Express. I might upload to the lappy and try to process the vids in AS!2 for giggles.
  16. I didn't realise there was a scope on the mount at the time. I might reconsider my opinion. As long as I win the next award. ?
  17. Far too many posts here flouting the judge's rigorous rules if you ask me. 'specially the one with the Mesu, completely out of order. To quote our right (dis)honourable judge "The rules are clear, and stated in this thread. Smartphone images taken through a scope is the simplest I can make it." Surely, disqualification should be considered, leaving the field clear for genuine masterpieces, taken through a scope, like mine. And obviously by pointing out this flagrant disregard for the rules I've earned extra brownie points. Some may consider my post self serving and mean spirited. I would agree completely
