  1. Wasn't even looking at the first stage However, now I am, I think I see it but not clearly. There's something that looks like a flash behind one of the left gridfins. Got it on quarter speed trying to get a grab of it now
  2. This? Reckon you could be right.
  3. SN9 scrubbed tonight due to wind, rescheduled for tomorrow. Fingers crossed https://www.nasaspaceflight.com/2021/01/starship-sn9-speedy-recovery-static-fire-launch/
  4. Brilliant report, I love it when I'm able to tempt my family with the views
  5. You're going to have difficulty, snapbridge should in principle be the tool for the job but it needs improvements. As well as having no port for a cable, it doesn't have an IR receiver to allow use of a wireless remote either. Backyard Nikon isn't supported either. You could use the self timer to trigger exposures while avoiding vibration, you'll be limited with exposure length though as that won't allow anything over 30s.
  6. Very nice. One of my favourite terminators. You caught a couple of craterlets in Plato too.
  7. We've got our nieces and nephews and their dad (bubble) with us for Christmas and Will, the oldest, aged 15, just snapped this single frame handheld with the Tamron 150-600, without stabilisation turned on. We're just getting wrapped up and going out for a vis session, I'm going to give him a tour of the southern highlands. That's my boy
  8. Just a bit! The Present Mrs Foster rolled her eyes as I ranted at the Google noise machine thingy!
  9. Yep. Just heard the R2 news, they went with ‘A revolutionary new SpaceX rocket exploded last night’
  10. The flip was incredible. I thought the landing burn fired too late as well, and the bloke on the feed I'm watching said the same.
  11. Incredible!! Not a failure by any means. Who wants to take bets on how many TFs it'll take them to land it successfully?
  12. Yep, 22:40. Turning the feed off to do some work now, somebody poke me at 22:30.
  13. I'm picturing an old boy in a Cessna
  14. Paused, standing by for new T-0. Good news
  15. problems at T- 2:06? 2 hours left in the launch window though.
  16. Nah, just a regular long pole and a pair of good running shoes
  17. Definitely one of the most aborty type launches I've seen
  18. Gorgeous waxing gibbous Moon looking all sparkly in front of a very clear sky this evening so I grabbed the D7000 with Tamron 150-600 attached, shot 5 shots and stacked 'em. Then I setup the Skymax 102 for some visual and had a very enjoyable hour. Also had reasonable views of Mars as well and snapped a single frame of both.
  19. Just watched the NASA Science Live bit. Mainly basic stuff but worth a watch. It's time for me to invest in an HA setup I think.
  20. I've just had a nice visual session observing Jupiter and Saturn with fairly reasonable views given their positions. Anyhoo, finished off with a quick snap or two of our nearest neighbour. This is 30 of 100 frames shot with the Nikon D3200 and Tamron 150-600 @ 500mm Processing is Pipp>AS!3>IMPPG>PS RGB More saturation
  21. Yes I thought about asking for his mate's details, just in case he has any other astro bargains lying around. Absolutely still a bargain, but just badly timed for me.
  22. Just spoke to the fellow as he's right on my doorstep. He's put the price up to £120 as he's had a ton of interest and has been made aware it's a classic, he's holding out for offers as well! Apparently he bought it from a friend for £30 a few years ago but never got 'into it' I would have at the original price but I've just forked out for a new Mac so the Present Mrs Foster would murder me at this price! I've suggested he add a picture of the objective to the listing, and maybe list it on astrobuysell as well to ensure it finds a good home. I've an idea the price may drif
