  1. Hello, I own a Vixen ED-80 refractor which is used with a custom focuser by Telescope Service. (pictured below) A Celestron f/6 SCT reducer corrector did not provide decent images either because it is not appropriate or because I did not maintain the correct distance. I am thinking of buying the Sky-Watcher .85x Reducer/Flattener instead, as it is made for similar ED80 telescopes. I do not know what is the correct distance of the SkyWatcher reducer for my setup and more important, I do not know if it will focus with the custom TS focuser. Do you have any similar setup that you have used successfully? Clear Skies! Paul
  2. Hi Wim, Could you please recommend compatible optocouplers? Thank you Paul
  3. Hello, I am thinking of buying SW Star Adventurer and wanted to know about a feature of it. I know that it can be used with an autoguider but I would like to be able to make corrections manually. I have a Celestron RJ-11 keypad (for RA-Dec) from the early 90's which I used for astrophotography with film cameras. Does anybody have experience with connecting a keypad to the ST4 port. Does it work? would it be possible to short-circuit the electronics? Thank you, Paul
  4. Thank you for your replies. Just one more question. Am I correct if I suppose that mounting a Newtonian in alt-az mode is better for observing as the eyepiece maintains its original orientation and there is no need for rotating the tube ? Have you used the mount with a Newtonian in this way? Paul
  5. Hello, I am thinking of upgrading my Vixen GP to SW EQ5 AZ mount. Do you know if I can control it with EQMOD, as it is not listed in EQMOD's site in the list of compatible mounts. Also, can I use the USB port for this purpose? Thank you Paul
