  5. I think Wilkinsons sell the smaller red light bulbs...... i'll look when i'm in town later and report back..
  6. Ant: Removed. Stop with the criminal damage suggestions already!!!
  7. I can't wait to try them.......forecast is for clouds,,,clouds....and then more clouds...
  8. My pal just got back from the USA..... she got me 7mm 12mm and 25mm Xcel LX and also a 2x barlow.......all for £140...... Waheey....tell me I got a bargain.......... trouble is....the clouds have come with them....
  9. For a quick fix...... a roll of Wheelie Bin Bin Bags,,,,,,one inside another....hoy it over the scope.....leg it inside...... a cup of tea,,,,,then back out when it's stopped....
  10. I once bought a bed that showed a woman building it by herself in the manual - Im definitely NOT sexist but it took me and the father in law 3 hours to assemble it working as a team. Mrs bedmakerwoman,,,,,where were you when I needed you ???? lol

  16. It makes me think he had someone bid it,,,, then just re-listed it a couple of weeks later thinking us eagle eyes wouldn't have spotted it...... I could be wrong......I could be right...... Hmmmmm weird.....
  17. So...................just to add a bit to the pot........ If first bloke advertises it on ebay, he can't put a link on here...... But.....if we see it on Ebay, we can put a link on to tell the forum of the great offer on ebay,,,,, Eh ??? Confused...... How does one know that the seller hasnt got two ebay accounts and two S.G.L. accounts..... I'm not suggesting he has, BUT......it wud be a doddle to do.... There you go.............I'm waiting to have my knuckles wrapped now LOL
  18. I think everyone starts with what the wallet allows - but I have a sneaking suspicion that what everyone wants is what the wallet doesn't allow. Does that make sense...... I'm quite happy with my "little Skywatcher 130p synscan"............ however that big Meade that Peter let me "play with" at the recent Kielder Starcamp was great....... Are you listenening Santa ?????
  19. I've got the Exporer 130P Synscan and it's fine ... most scopes i've looked thru tend to "have the image in the eyepiece dancing all over if you bang them"...... the lesson isn't to slag the scope, it's to get used to working it correctly. Yes it's a lot lighter than the much more expensive scopes, and yes,,,,correct again,,,it's a tube..... BUT..... mine doesn't act as a sail in the wind... Stop being so negative towards the lower spec scopes....
  20. slow moving........hmmm cud they have been chinese lanterns....
  21. "Whch telescope is best?" ........ that's a bit like going into the library and saying "any good books in here? "..........
  22. I'm running my Skywatcher 130P Explorer Synscan off a 12V alarm battery and have been doing so for 2 years now... As my Skywatcher is a 1amp drain it gives me about 12 hours of constant use. The battery is housed in a Maplins storage box - it's about 50% larger than the battery and the extra space easily accomodates all the cables I use. See..........you don't have to go paying a fortune - and.....the battery charger is a Medion one from Aldi @ £12.99 with a 3 year guarantee....
  23. Here's something that might prove beneficial to subscribers of magazines.... I'm a subscriber to Digital Photo magazine and every month they have an offer to try an tempt new punters to subscribe - it could be FREE camera bag,,,FREE tri-pod,,, etc etc..... Now a while ago I phoned the subscrition line up as I thought I would cancel my subscription, then buy an issue from the newagents and then come back and take out a new subscription thus claiming a FREEBIE in the process. The lady who took the call at BAUER PUBLICATIONS told me that I didn't have to do this as everyone who has a subscription is entitled to one of these FREE gifts EVERY 12 months.... Well........No one has ever mentioned this to me..... Last week I phoned up to claim a set of Reflecive Shields worth about £30.... it was a doddle,,,,, I give my number,,,,told them what I wanted.....and it was here 72 hours later. Try it.....and get your FREE gift that YOU ARE ENTITLED to... Let me know how it goes....
  24. I'm Tyne and Wear too,,,, I havent noticed anything weird here....I know where Mars is......I know where Venus and Jupiter are.... there are lots of those stars with wings here,,,er,,,,,I mean planes
