No. Stepped out onto the patio, pointed the camera and got lucky.

No it was a fancy Image Stabilised, Ultrasonic one. Second hand as well. Like I say, I couldn't get anything good with my PST given the conditions, but I thought that might happen so I got the Baader filter from FLO and it saved the day.

Due to my arthritis I don't do much imaging these days. I battled the clouds and the nippy weather to get this image (eventually). Used a Canon EOS2000D with a 70-300 lens and a Baader solar filter. I have a Coronado PST but the Sun is so low this time of year plus the clouds I gave up with that. Too much cursing before the watershed!
The original grayscale image wasn't as clear as I'd hoped, so I used Photoshop with a bit of colourisation and enhancement.

Bought one of those cheapo webcams from Morgan as a back up camera.
Forgot the adapter and order one from FLO yesterday and it arrived in the post this morning.
Want to test it out but clear skies are at a premium.

Well done to the chaps at First Light Optics.
Ordered an AstroZap dust cap for my Europa 10 inch Newtonian on Thursday and it arrived promptly in the post the next morning.
Fed up with the flimsy frisbee style caps that OO supply. They break far too easily. One has now been converted into a rudimentary Hartmann mask so it will probably be of more use than previously.
The shower cap reference is due to their appearance as can be seen from this image on the Astrozap website

Given my dodgy knee problems I have decided to scale back on the night-time astronomy until I feel a bit better.
Had a bit of money spare so decided to get a Coronado PST from TH. Excellent and quick service from them as always. Mind you, the packaging is so tight you need a crowbar to get the scope out of it's box
Looking forward to using it for the first time although it is cloudy now of course.
