I was stunned to see an enormous prom lifting off really quickly today from the northeastern limb. By the time I had sorted out a capture I had missed the start. Absolutely rightโฆ..I have a fairly nasty northern outlook from my placeโฆ.street lights, houses etc and M33 never gets above about 20 degreesโฆ..hence my surprise and smile ๐

Messier 33, The Triangulum Galaxy. This is the third of my wine night pics and the one that surprised me the most. Only a tiny 35 minutes of data and yet it still gives up lovely detail. The Triangulum Galaxy is one of the closest of our galaxy neighbours at a mere 2.73 million light years from earth. Our local group of galaxies consists of M33, M31 the Andromeda Galaxy and our own Milky Way. They are gravitationally bound and headed our way. Look forward to a spectacular collision in about 4 billion years. SW150PDS HEQ5 Canon 6d 35x60 seconds Backyard eos Pixinsight

Less than an hour on M42 the great Orion Nebula last night. Hi All, Maybe not quite the right forum for this question but it seemed the most apt. I use the Blackwater imaging toolbox on their website as I find it the best one available. Over the last couple of days Iโve noticed that I canโt get on the website. Does anyone know anything about this ? Cheers, Andy

Capture number 2 from Friday night. I managed 3 targets on Friday due to the constraints of my view of the northern sky. This is the longest capture and Iโm pretty pleased. NINA wasnโt playing ball with me on Friday so I tried to manually dither to reduce walking noise with my 6d and it worked rather well ๐ M45 Sw 150pds HEQ5 Canon 6d 95x60 seconds Backyard eos Pixinsight

A solar prominence looping approximately 80,000 kilometres above the Suns Chromosphere with an egg frying temperature of between 7,000 to 11,000 C. Itโs amazing to me that with a fairly average home set up, in my backyard, that I can capture this wonderful display. This is approximately 30 minutes of imaging compressed into a few seconds and looped forwards and then backwards. There is plenty to work on here. I need to eliminate the newton rings at source, does the player one mars m have a built in tilter ? otherwise itโs hand in pocket time again ๐๐ pscompress.mp4 Apart from that, Iโm pretty pleased with this. Itโs my most detailed prominence yet ๐ SW80 Daystar quark chromosphere HEQ5 Player one mars m Firecapture Autostakkert Imppg Pixinsight Photoshop

Thanks ๐ I use astrosurface quite a bit for stacking but I canโt get along with the wavelets, so I stick with imppg which works well for me ๐ -
Popped my new Daystar Quark on to my SW ED80 and used my player one mars m camera. I'm pleased with the result so far. I need to work on my processing skills and wait for some really clear mornings. best 10% of 1000 frames captured with firecapture. Processed with Autostakkert, imppg and photoshop. cheers, Andy

This is the best Iโve been able to do this farโฆโฆ 127 mak cass , player one mars m, x2.5 Barlow.

Hi Guys, A simple question for you. I would like to photograph solar granulation. Will I be able to capture it with either my Ed 80 or my mak cass 127 ? With the requisite white light filter of course. Plus I also have x2.5 and x 5 Barlow lenses. I have a player one mars m camera and various assorted dslr. I have tried once before with the mak cass 127 plus barlow, plus the player one mars m but I couldnโt process out any granulation. I suspect it was a little bit off in the focus and the seeing was fairly crap. I just want to know whether it can be done with these apertures. And of course, if anyone has any examples, I would love to see them. Thanks heaps in advance, Andy

I am still on my learning curve for a full disk mosaic with my set up. There's a small chunk missing and itโs a little unevenly lit despite a good flat field being applied.
