      Thanks Charl. :)

  3. Clouds spoiled play again just as I’d finished setting up. Don’t you just love it when that happens! Sheesh! Grrrrrr........ ;)

  4. Even though still light Jupiter is showing nice details. GRS easily visible, along with other belts/details etc, at least in my C8 tonight. Hoping for a good image! :)

  5. Finally, managed to grab a few hours observing between cloud belts! Great to see some old friends again (M81 & 82, M42, M36, 37 &38, along with Venus, Mars and the moon!) :)

Only wish it could have lasted longer, but it was better than the zilch that I've had for the last two weeks! :(

sounds like you had a good night Gus, I had a few hours lastnight, seeing wasn't too bad, had a trip to the triple in leo then bagged a few more galaxys in virgo, then finished off with Jupiter, all in all not a bad night. hope you have more clear skys ,charl.

Yes, it was Charl. Amazing what just an hour or so of observing will do after what seems like an eternity of clouds! ;)

  6. Grrrrr.......rain! :(

I thought Thursday was my break and now their saying hurricane Gordon remnants will be headed our way, flood watches all around and a ton of reading to catch up on...I guess. Hope it works out for you ?

  8. Just had new led streetlights installed on my back and front ways. Looks much darker out there, although the proof of the pudding will come when I get clear skies, but fingers crossed! :)

As long as they don't shine upwards, you should be fine. The ones on our street are kind of dim actually unless you stare into them from below.

From what I can see they shine directly down. Get a better idea tonight as forcast to be clear (fingers crossed), so should get a better idea when dark skies show. :)

      Fingers crossed.

  9. Oh well! Another great forcast by FLO that turned out to be more fantasy than reality after clouds piled in again after set up. I did manage to view a couple of things before total wipe out, so can’t complain too much I guess! ;)

  10. Ok, footie starting, so sees ya all later! Come on Englandddddddd! ;)

  16. Can't wait to test out my 6/8 SE Goto mount when I get back home, so hoping for some clear skies for Friday night and the weekend! Fingers crossed! :)

  17. Chilly night out there, but through intermittent clouds M42, M81 & M82 were very nice. Even nabbed the Eskimo nebula in Gemini despite the moon nearby. Now time to warm up & get some sleep! :)

  18. Chilly out there, but good to get the scope out for a wee session again. Pity that Skysafari never allowed an alignment with my goto mount, but the normal handcontroller came to the rescue! :)

  19. Clouds! Clouds! Clouds! Grrrrrr.............!!!

  20. Collect a great second hand Az Goto mount on Friday from Dobbie. Can't wait to use it, so hoping that o get some clear skies for the weekend! Fingers crossed! :)

      xtreemchaos

oh mate, im gutted for you, hope thay sort it out soon, darn DHL,guess the mountain was too high for them. ive often had deliverys fom them and know when there outside my house by the banging coming from there van as thay chuck stuff around, thay should get fined when stuff get broke because thay clearly dont give a dam about our goods. charl.

    2. Knighty2112

      Knighty2112

Exactly. Makes you wonder how they manage to stay in business wit all the claims against them! Sheesh!

  24. Drat! Just as Mars is getting into a nice position to observe, had a 10 minute brake, then came back outside to sky covered in sea fog! Grrrrr….😡😡😡

  25. Even though the skies were cruddy, I just managed to bag the blue snowball planetary nebula! Happy bunny! :)
