  1. AR’s on the sun looking good today in the afternoon in my Omni 120mm ‘frac and Lunt 2” wedge and solar continuum filter with also nd 0.6 filter also. Some nice details when seeing is steady. 👍🏻

  2. Scope set up and waiting. Covered up in case of slight prediction for rain up to 9pm, bit hoping by that time its ready to roll <fingers crossed!> 😃

  3. Time to collimate my C8 SCT with a star test. Always hate this part!  Groan!!!! :(

Blah! Clouds scudded in, so stopped the star test. I did manage though to use an artificial star along the full length of the garden, which seems to have done the trick. Stars look like stars again and not flying seagulls! 😀

  4. Excellent views of Jupiter, GRS and moons this morning. Best of the year so far in my 120mm Omni ‘frac with 5mm Duo EP! 😀

  5. Drat! Just as Mars is getting into a nice position to observe, had a 10 minute brake, then came back outside to sky covered in sea fog! Grrrrr….😡😡😡

  6. Plenty of WL activity on the sun today. 😃

  7. Had great fun with new (to me) Celestron 6/8SE goto mount. Got all things in view easily in my C8 SCT on it! 😀

  8. Hello Mercury! Nice to see ya again! 😃

  9. Uh oh! New scope inbound! What am I like! 🫤

  10. Gone 12 o’clock, so it’s now officially legging up day! 😂

  11. Phew! After today nights start getting longer and darker (eventually) again! 😁😁😁

  12. New (to me) Heq5 Pro goto mount got first light out tonight. The 2 star alignment proved to work very well. Looking forward to good views with this mount! 😀

Hi Charl. Had a very brief view of M13 last night. Sky conditions weren’t great, so M13 wasn’t showing its best. Forcast for tonight looks much better hopefully. From what I saw on the solar sunspots earlier on I know the views will be great. Already can see nice and sharp stars in the EP when looking around. 😀

Yes, hopefully as long as the weather plays ball. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

  16. Windy, and not far off a full moon, but got a good view of Uranus just north of the moon through my 120mm ‘frac and 5mm EP. Nice to see a planet again! :)

      Do you do any imaging?

    3. Knighty2112

      Knighty2112

A little planetary imaging now and again is all.

I spent the better half of 2018 imaging Mars (and its dust storms). I'm warming up to my ASI224MC as I have been using the very capable Orion 5MP Solar System camera for planetary work. I'm gearing up for a better apparition in 2020, too!

  17. Skies looking good for later on to test out some fuzzies with some new 25x70 binos later on! :) 🤞🏻

  18. New goodies incoming tomorrow. Can’t wait! 🔭

Goodie No; 1 landed earlier on. No; 2 arriving in an hour! :)

      Knighty2112

And goodie No;2 dropped in the postbox earlier on too! Like a kid at Christmas! 🔭

  19. Grrrrr.......rain! :(

Grrr indeed. New ep's arrived and sky is pants!!

  20. I’m trying to be optimistic for the weather at Kelling from Thursday onwards! :)

I thought Thursday was my break and now their saying hurricane Gordon remnants will be headed our way, flood watches all around and a ton of reading to catch up on...I guess. Hope it works out for you ?

      Hoping so! :)

  21. Unexpected bit of clear skies, not the best so been hunting some doubles on the AVX Mount with my Omni 120mm ‘frac. Happy days! :)

Have you tried to image Albireo? I used my Nikon D3200 and got a nice shot last year.

      Knighty2112

Yes, got a few shots off the other night. Need to process them and I’ll post it up.

  22. Just had new led streetlights installed on my back and front ways. Looks much darker out there, although the proof of the pudding will come when I get clear skies, but fingers crossed! :)

As long as they don't shine upwards, you should be fine. The ones on our street are kind of dim actually unless you stare into them from below.

    3. Knighty2112

      Knighty2112

From what I can see they shine directly down. Get a better idea tonight as forcast to be clear (fingers crossed), so should get a better idea when dark skies show. :)

      emadmoussa

      Fingers crossed.

  23. Oh well! Another great forcast by FLO that turned out to be more fantasy than reality after clouds piled in again after set up. I did manage to view a couple of things before total wipe out, so can’t complain too much I guess! ;)

  24. Clouds spoiled play again just as I’d finished setting up. Don’t you just love it when that happens! Sheesh! Grrrrrr........ ;)

  25. Jupiter showing nice detail tonight. GRS easily visible in the twilight. Would stay up to view more but need to get sleep for an early start for work alas.
