Superb! Still too blue stars in the background, but your balance gives the nebula fantastic colors, very natural.
Thanks for the comment !

Thanks for the info!
WOOOW! After looking your setup online. I think you have spent almost or more than $20K... That is a heck of a professional setup. That is why no doubt the images are so nice.
Yes - I have spent quite a bit.... However, I started with something a little cheaper - a SW ED 80 Pro + NEQ6 mount + SX M26C camera with an ST80 for a guide scope and a Lodestar X2 guide camera. Although I decided to go straight into guiding I decided to simplify my entry to astrophography by initially going for colour camera.

Hi Alan,
I am new to this forum and I am at the stage of exploring Astronomy. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of Telescope you are using and setup?
Thanks!
Hello !
At the moment I'm using a SW Esprit 150 on a 10micron GM1000HPS with a SX Trius 814 camera - all controlled by ACP Expert - have a look in my gallery in the album "Automated Observatory" and you'll see some pictures of my set up.

A really pretty open cluster. I enjoy observing this from my backyard through my 11x80 binoculars.
Thanks for posting, regards Georg

Very good indeed! A bit of RGB for the stellar cores, maybe? You'd need so little.
Olly
Thanks Olly.
Originally, I was going to replace the NB stars with RGB ones - however, I quite liked the way the starfield turned out, so I decided to leave it as a "pure" NB image.

Excellent image! Always great to capture a Supernova. One enormous bang!
Thanks ! - yes, my first supernova that I have knowingly captured

Truly superb to my eye. While the image is admirably deep it still leaves the gasses looking like gasses rather than solids, which easily happens.

Thanks for the comment Olly.

amazing image - the LP around me effectively masks the fainter details, even after 25 hours of exposure.
Thanks
I'm somewhat fortunate that I live in a very low light pollution area, not quite a dark site, but close. I've also found that my new imaging set up (Esprit 150 on a GM1000HPS) at 0.7 arc seconds/pixel seems to be delivering the detail. I was a little dubious that 0.7 was going to be too low but it seems that the seeing where I image from is a little better than I thought.

Pieter - thanks !
In addition to the Photoshop's High Pass Filter and Unsharp Mask, this time I applied Pixinsight's HDRMT routine, which is excellent at sharpening images.

Really nice capture Alan. If it's clear on friday I may have a go at this myself!

Thanks Dan ! As I type this, I'm surrounded by dense fog, so I cannot even see the clouds.....hopefully this will improve !

Thanks ! Yes, the very faint galaxy is IC1296, which is about 15th magnitude.
