  1. Still learning to process with PI, this time I was trying Color Mask for the first time. Probably overdid it but it was fun using this tool. Would really like some feedback on this image. Will collect some more data next time the weather cooperates. Wind was a bit stiff so guiding was effected a little, but the CEM60 works great.

I like both, maybe you should try something in between.
  3. First image this season.Mini observatory is up and new mount on top of pier. Still learning PixInsight and I need feedback so any comments are very welcome. Found that one of my problems is that my eyes start playing tricks on me. When I return to the an image I thought was nice I find that I am not satisfied.

  5. I had one from an earlier setup, sorry but I can't remember where I ordered it from. The link I posted was just to show what I meant by serial to usb.
  6. Hi John, the handset is connected on the right side of the mount and cable to pc on the left, and you need a serial to usb like this http://www.ftdichip....es/USBRS232.htm. Kenneth
  7. Removing the polar scope I manage to get a USB3 superspeed cable through the dovetail saddle into the hole left by the scope. The vixen dovetail on my Edge 8 has a slot where the cable fit nicely. The cable moves freely and there is no problem when the saddle rotates. I now have no cables dragging and all my equipment is connected, mount, camera, filter wheel, guide camera and focuser. The only cable left is the Polemaster which I disconnect when polar aligned. I am very impressed with the CEM60, slewing around with great ease and when tracking all I hear is a low ticking like a clock. Too bad
  8. Congratulation, already got mine, but I chose to go without EC. Looks good but have not tried it yet. Think we will enjoy these, the PE test looks good.
  9. Yes, it is arc-seconds and I hope your right.
  10. Wanting to purchase a premium mount I sold my AZ-EQ6 but unforeseen expenses made that impossible so what to do? I decide on a iOptron CEM60 which I think will be an upgrade on what I had. Also got the adapter to mount on my pier in my “Mini” observatory. At this time of year in Norway the skies are very light and impossible to see any stars, so I’ll have to set up and test in my garage. Just hoping I haven’t done something stupid, a lot of different opinions about this mount and the “Magnetic” coupling of the gears. But I decided to listen to people who own the mount and not the ones with dif
  11. Hi Guys I want to thank you all for your support this season. My season is over due to disappearing darks skies. Living under the midnight sun has its pros and cons, so its time to pack up and make room for my summer hobbies. Greenhouse needs cleaning and my fishing gear dusting off. Sad to put away my equipment just as I was getting things to run smoothly. Its been a troublesome season with a lot of mechanical problems on top of really bad weather. Now that I’ve taken the diction to stop imaging I’m glad for all the rain and snow because the rivers will remain big through the summer and
  12. Heat is no problem because my season is over before the temp gets to be a problem. By mid May the night sky is to light to do anything really worth the effort," Midnight sun ". But I am working at the water tightness issue, thinking about a thin layer of fiberglass. The top fits over the lower edge so no leaks there.
  13. Hi Skipper Do you remember the bearing sizes and specs, if I decide to do this myself I would like to have everything ready before I start disassembling.
  14. All good but has anyone had a professional hypertune, and is it worth the money?
