  1. Good eye yes avi does show bit of a ring \ more sensitive to sharpening.
  2. Someone wiser than me will need to jump in on that. The avi does degrade quicker pushing the wavelets but possible it came out of as3 crispier. Also possible seeing changed or slight wind gust inside of 10 minutes all were captured.
  3. 6/14 took 3 ser rgb captures and 3 avi rgb close together. One minute captures each same roi 640x480 camera asi120mmS. 12 bit ser = 1365 frames each rgb 19% stacked in as3- 8 bit avi = 1750 frames each rgb 15% stacked in as3. De-rotated videos ran thru as3 again same parameters then final rgb images combined in winjupos, color balanced, opened in ps, resized 200%, same unsharp mask applied and despeckle. At this point images are pretty similar avi is showing little more detail. Usually don't go much further just slight wavelets if halfway decent image came out. Did wavelets, denoise and lowered levels tad. Can certainly push wavelets much further with 12 bit. 8 bit begins to degrade fast. 12 bit easier to wavelet and keep smooth planet look but not much difference overall. Could've pushed 12 bit more, quality of overall video prob not worth it. Maybe better seeing would show more of difference. If not better to take avi for speed alone. End of experiment. Clear skies!
  4. Yeah, I don't get it sometimes. C11 seems to always give me nice images of moon with average seeing no issues using barlow or image during daylight. Planets a different story, seeing needs to be great. One of reasons I picked up the 178mm, on paper with C-11 it meets planetary critical sampling without use of barlow.
  5. You have the new sct dialed in, amazing to see detail on a satellite of Jupiter. Thanks !
  6. If imaging planets will need to focus each filter. My red and blue filter are pretty close, slight adjustment but green needs bit more.
  7. Captured 51 videos (17 rgb sets) of Jupiter and Saturn, next 10 days show cloud/rain. C-11 - asi178mm - mini efw. 10% stacks of 2000 frame rgb ser's de-rotated combined in winjupos.
  8. Nice details coming through, GRS to boot. I gave the 178mm a go on Jupiter last night opposite side of GRS.
  9. C-11 asi 120mmS mini efw. Seeing below average occasional thin cloud bright moon. Decided not to make things complicated, no alignment aside from pointing N leveling. Turned on mount, manually found Saturn (easy even for me) tightened clutches started tracking. Much quicker.
  10. Terrific capture and processing, enjoy tracking them. Also bit eerie thinking could one with earths name on it be out there.
  11. Well that stinks. Good reason to visit Southern hemisphere warm waters & sandy beaches. June planet challenge appears Ibbo!, astroman001 and astroavani all tied for 3rd. Unsure of other member but appears to be in 1st & 2nd, contest ends tomorrow.
  12. Watched just this area of moon for good hour or so yesterday, was stunning even with sun not set. Picture doesn't really do views justice. 152 refractor asi 120mmS red filter.
  13. Tried faster set to see if advantage over seeing. Not optimal sampling but well over 2000 frames mono16 ser in 30 sec was nice. Imaged in 320/240 roi and 1280/960. 152mm f8 refractor 1200mm asi 120mmS mini efw. Moved set up to edge of tree line for better vantage. Mounts star polar align saved me, can only see S and small area of SW/SE skies from this spot. All N and W blocked by trees. Frames sorted by quality in PIPP, stacked in AS3, resized 200%, aligned and sharpened in PS. Wide image set below shows by time taking 30 sec each rgb Io disappeared behind Jupiter. Cheers!
  14. So i've never used this feature on the AVX mount until tonight after owning mount few years. Terrific results being only have South and SE from new spot. I wanted to get all way to North tree line to gain some altitude on Jupiter and away from roof. No way to polar align through cedar trees to North via polar scope or sharpcap or pole master. So I gave all star polar align a try. Just followed directions did a 2 star align on Spica and Heze plus calibration star on Rasalhague. Had to use Heze because boxed in by tall trees to West in this spot also. Plus can't go much higher due to length of refractor. Turned out fine and align successful. Slewed to Zubeneschamali not far from meridian for polar align star. Followed directions mount slewed away and back used alt / az adjustments to center star. Went back to home position, restarted everything and slewed to Spica it was dead center in camera. Did same 2 star + 1 calibration and fired up stellarium scope. Been tracking Jupiter through trees for hour just poking through now. Still near center of 1280/960 cam view after hour. Very pleased with this feature!
  15. In its natural color - shades of white. Solar film - ed80 - asi cam
  16. Perfect temps, no dew, no clouds, no wind, but Antares below shows how rough it was up there. Able to pull few details out, didn't set up for nothing. C11 - ASI120mmS - 2.5 powermate - mini efw - RGB filters. Cheers!
  17. Fiddling around with Jupiter set up few hours before sunset. 7000mm - C11 - 2.5 powermate - red filter - asi120mmS - AS3 20% stacks 1000 frame SER. You're next Jupiter...
  18. Amazing detail in moons and planet great work!
  19. Congrats to the winners, spectacular comet images! Was a fun challenge.
  20. I've been using Azulle pc stick for EAA been good fit for me. Came with Win 10 pro 32G SSD (10G remains after updates/sharpcap/stellarium/ascom etc) usb 3 port, usb 2 port, Ethernet port, HDMI port, micro sd port / card for extra storage. I run it remotely from laptop inside. Runs on 12V power tank, mount connects to ethernet port, camera to usb 3 port, focus control usb 2 port. My only gripe would be one more usb port would be useful for guide camera. Course I could also just get out of chair and manually focus telescope #lazy..
  21. Here kitty kitty, oh no..not a kitty! It seems very relaxed around you, cool images.
  22. Helpful thread, ideally I need adjustable barlow or electronic barlow wheel for my set up. 2.5x barlow is close with blue using vlaiv's multiplier f .76 higher and 229mm fl higher but far off on red f 7.25 high and 2045mm FL high. With 2x barlow blue is f 8.24 low and 1181mm low but red is f 1.76 low and 645mm high?
  23. The 152 with Baader Herschel prism, yes burning bush is out of control. ML
  24. Its soo purdy , found missing DEM source data after some digging. Still cant enter UT time but I can enter day of observation, is close enough for me. I like it, thanks ! ML
