  2. Thanks all! I was out early this morning and saw Jupiter and Venus, Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Well, I'm very new to observing. That being said I'm finding my way around. I used the Celestron sky portal app, and found M31, using a pair of Nikon Binocs I saw it!!!! It looked like a faint smudge in the sky, for lack of a better word. I tried to find it with my astromaster with no luck. That was last night. I had better luck tonight. I believe it was luck but I found it through my eyepiece. I'll take it as a win! What I was rewarded with was a little closer view of the "smudge". A very rewarding experience! Dark skies be yours! 13. That's awesome Mars! I imagine Saturn will be a staple for me! Can't wait for clear dark sky's! We have so much to learn, however, to set up the gear then be rewarded with a view was outstanding! Not sure but I thought I saw a moon also! Titan I would imagine! Going to be another clear night tonight, so guess what I'll be doing! Sure is great to get my son out of video game land, and into the lab of the heavens! Thanks for the conversation! 14. Ok! My son and I had our Celestron 114eq out for the first time. Looked at the waxing crescent, nice good view although setting. Then I said huh, I think that's Saturn. Dialed it in with a Barlow and a Plössl 32mm and BAM! What a great night! Tried a 10mm with the Barlow and no go, I saw it briefly then it tracked out of view... Still an awesome night! 15. Love it! In real new, but my son and I are STARting with a Celestron 114eq. From what I've read, post purchase, we've got our hands full! By study and gracious help I'm sure we'll see something out there! Here is to hoping for dark clear skies! Greetings from the great black swamp, ohio! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
