mine stood up to a small fall last night
phew, close one there SP. I did read on here a while back that the bottom fell out of one of the maplins cases.
Pleased to read there was no damage to your eyepieces
-
Aaaa that's better Rob.
Did not see any dilemma in showing the forum a high quality set of eyepieces.
Superb set.
Thank You
-
Nice set Rob.
I can see why you have chosen such a range but as you say, we never quite seem to complete the collection and so decide on the next one to try out or at least thinking about it.
Any chance you could turn the pic around?

think mine are only being shown on our website along with one or two other nice pics of members kit

Quality collection Michael.

Nice tidy job.
You may find it hard to keep it looking so good as time goes by, but and its a very nice but, that's always down to buying something new to arrange in there!

Alan you can borrow my Antares 1.6x barlow anytime you like
That's very kind of you Adam, as they are so difficult to get hold of I am going to decline though. I would hate it to get damaged or lost in the post
As for my 24mm Panoptic, its going no where, as has been mentioned by yourself and others it is a superb eyepiece and I do not envisage ever letting it go. Views on the Moon are spectacular using it as it virtually fills the fov using the 925.
On the updated kit posted, the collections are fantastic and a pleasure to see although they could be dangerous on your wallet.

Thank you for the very kind offer Alan. Have you not considered an Antares x1.6 for the etho. They apparently pair well and would give you roughly an 8mm etho.
Nop, to be honest I prefer the eyepiece on its own Nick. Like so much it would be interesting to see how well it would do if I could try one but I am very happy with what I have atm
I do have a Tal 2x but will soon be letting it go, it performed well with my 24 Pan using the dob which is also leaving.

Thanks Alan. I'm actually happy with the set I have now. No where near the standard of the Nags but no where near the cost either. My only real regret was letting the BGO's go .
pm me, you can borrow my 7mm BGO for a few months if you want mate can't seem to tear myself away from that 13mm Ethos

there's some spondooly's worth of glass in this thread
too right, perhaps we all should sell the lot and bail out the bankers, they are a bit short having had no bonus this year
-
I am sure the views you are getting with those are exceptional Nick, is it not the object that one is observing that is ultimately the only real consideration? I still remember how, when using my 6se and 32mm plossl ep, I felt when seeing the Moon and Saturn never mind so many other amazing objects.
Best Wishes

Where are you guys getting the metal cases from, looking around on goolge but not really sure what to look for?

Where have I read that before ... O it was from almost every member on SGL :pThat should just about do it for a while -
I'm a doctor* and i can tell you now there is no cure.At all!
*I lied about being a doctor.I'm not one really:D
you should see a doctor to seek help with your lying affliction
as for the topic..would seem I too am in need of a cure. I am looking along the line's of a 12" only so hope that, along with some reasonable darkish skies, may "cure" me

some brilliant eyepieces on show on this page
-
is a nice resource seeing everyone's ep kits, I have shown a few people from the local astro society what we all use on SGL, has been great to see so many nice collections and has given a few ideas to some here as to what to upgrade to, based on the poster's signature.
-
if only that was true mate, no doubt a few new one's will be appearing from members over the next few monthsi will never need another eyepiece -
looking like a great collection you have there Damo
what's next on the list?
-
Hi Dave, do as search on line and see if you can find anyone who makes cases to order, use the protective poly that shipped with it and maybe pack it with some more cut to size, have been considering doing the same for my 925. I did use a similar method for my old Celestron 6se but have lost the info on the company who made the case for me, it only cost me £70.00 and a nice bonus was the colour I picked... orange to match the scope.
Will post here if I find new a supplier.

Nah , this one's a keeper. If I get chance this weekend I'll do a full report and post comparison pics
Well of course, interestingly its the 6mm I would buy for some high power solar system views.
CPC 925: fl 2350mm
Aperture: 230mm
Power: 391x
Exit pupil: 1.7 deg
think that would be good for the odd night of great seeing
-
so you won't be selling it Paul?
A handy little review which will tempt a few more to acquire one or two, good to see you had a chance to test it out.
-
Been some great ep collections added in the past few days, always good to see what people are using and the feedback given on the choices made.
Is it me or is an eyepiece case a living entity? always evolving and changing its appearence

Hi Dan, I have not had the chance to use the plans you e-mailed. Looking at some other cheaper alternatives at the moment but although I am going to buy one it means just one thing, save the build for the summer when it will be a pleasure to construct during the nice light warm evenings
Clear Skies
Show me your eyepiece/accessories case, please.
