    M81 82a Jpg

From the album: Photos from Bury

Image shows M81 and M82 (this pair makes one of my favourite telescope targets). Image taken using SW Evostar 120 on an auto guided EQ5 mount. This image was staked from 10 subframes. Calibration using 20 bias, 2 darks and 1 flat image.
  5. From the album: Photos from Bury

Andromeda galaxy group (M31, M32, M110). Taken with a SW Evostar 120 mounted on an auto guided EQ5. The image is stacked from 10 lights and corrected using 2 darks, 20 bias and 1 flat image. The calibration is not correct, probably because of the unequal numbers of darks, bias and flats.

I defocused the stars just to look at the range of colours they show. The result is quite nice.
  7. Expecting delivery of my new battery today...I can finally start imaging from some dark sky sites!

  15. From the album: Older pics

My first attempt at M101 - Invisible in the view finder so literally a shot in the dark! Can't remember exact camera settings, probably something like: ISO 800, exposure ~3 minutes. This was a single farm unguided shot (on an eq5 mount!).
  16. Cloudy...again!

Well "Cloudy ...again!" at least means there was a clear spell between the two, otherise it would be "Cloudy...still!". Guess I haven't helped much :-))
