  1. Thanks ronin, apparently I can use no more than 3 mtrs of usb cable with the ZWO's so that would need some research. Thanks for the feedback, I know Ian so will give him a call in the week..
  2. Hi I'm researching a web cam for my 12" Skywatcher dob and and I'm trying to shortcut due to the amount of information out there, so if I don't get moving it'll be light skys again.. I'm looking at something around the £200-300 mark, colour, good quality as I want as little editing as possible. 1.25 or 2". Deep sky and planetary combined if poss? Can any of you guys point me in the right direction?
  3. Hi.. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get a Registax 4 or 6 download for a Mac running OS X 10.9.5. Thanks
  4. This may seem an odd question to some but I cannot get my head around this so thought i'd put it out there. Telescope 300p Dob The image I would see through my scope normally is upside down. So.. When I connect my DSLR to my eye piece on my reflector, if I swivel the camera 180 degrees will it come out the right way up and save me from rotating the image later?
  5. Good report.... Ive just taken delivery of the Morpheus 6.5mm 12.7mm and i'm awaiting the 17.7mm (to be in stock March).. Not tried them out yet but may get a break in the cloud this weekend. So all I can tell you so far is that they have a quality look and feel, the packaging is better than my wife's Louis Vuitton purse packaging.
  6. Hi All, Firstly thanks for your advice, it's very much appreciated. I have placed an order for three Baader Morpheous eye pieces 17.5mm, 12.5mm and 6.5mm. Fingers crossed.
  7. Thanks very much for all your help, more research required me thinks on your suggested alternatives. Any thoughts on the Baader Morpheus range?
  8. Two days and counting before I finally take the plunge after months of frustration and deliberation over the minified of what eye pieces I should go for. I have a Skywatcher Skyliner 300p 12" Dob F1500mm with go-to and Ive needed to be decisive as this could go on forever so i'm going for a set of Hyperion Eye Pieces 5/10/17/24mm.. I think. They seem to tick all the boxes and are in a nice case which satisfies my OCD tenancies, with room to expand. Any personal thoughts on eye pieces from you guys before I place my order. Just to confuse matters.
  9. Hi Paul, Thanks for advice I've only just read it.. I bought a cable from Maplins with the PL2303 chip and now my Mac Pro can see the scope in the configuration window... The only problem I'm working on now is that the when clicking on an object on Stellarium the Mac will not move the telescope. Any ideas or pointers please? thanks
  10. No thats the driver I've downloaded. I am thinking wrong driver for the QinHeng Electronics HL-340 USB-Serial adapter, or maybe the wrong connecter ? I'm I being premature in feeling optimistic about this?
  11. Hi James, I have looked and I'm getting the following... I guess the next steps is to find out how to configure the device whack I guess is referring to the USBSerial cable? USB2.0-Ser!: Product ID: 0x7523 Vendor ID: 0x1a86 Version: 2.54 Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec Location ID: 0x14500000 / 9 Current Available (mA): 500 Current Required (mA): Unknown (Device has not been configured)
  12. Hi, thanks for all your replies. It really looks like a can of worms but frustratingly interesting. I am trying to connect direct to the SynScan handset V4 I think and I am using Stellarium... I'm lost with the drivers. I was clutching at straws and may have followed the wrong guidance re: USBSerial drivers for a MAC.
  13. Hi, I'm not familiar with 'eqmod (using parallels)' and 'EQMAC'. Can you expend on that for me as a beginner please ? thanks
  14. I am trying to connect my Skyliner 300p telescope SynScan hand control to my Mac pro via rj11 to serial connecter female to serial connector male to usb port (similar cable as attached picture). So far I cannot connect even though downloading the following software...... • HL-340 / CH-340 / CH-341 Driver (V2.0.0) • PL-2303 Driver Two days in with no success so any help most welcome Thanks in advance....
