  1. I've got as far as 'confirm purchase' where things seem to grind to a halt! It could very well be this PC at work, I'll try on my netty shortly....
  2. To an oldie like me, anyone under the age of 25 appears to be a geek...
  3. Thank you, when you say 'most', I take it you're referring to most geeks? as I would call it a window...
  4. As this is the beginners section, perhaps one might explain what or who is 'ui'? 'cos I sure as horses don't know....
  5. I have a SW 90mm mak, which has proved to be an excellent travel scope, even though the eq-1 mount is a tad heavy. It will mount directly onto a camera tripod though.
  6. Just ordered my replacement canvas roof PSP2013 site still closed though....
  7. That's a cracking shot, worth the trip in itself I'd say.
  8. Chinas' continued refusal to adopt QA standards offers hope to the western economy.
  9. My walking boots kept my feet warm and dry, even though they weren't tied up. Quilted bib and brace motorcycle over trousers may have looked somewhat rediculous, but I was warm and dry. I did have spare boots and socks on hand incase of severe dampness, but didn't need them. Inside the bivoac I wore my North Face slippers, sleeping bags for feet, which my daughter bought me last chrimbugmas, bless her
  10. Nice show, did you go all goosepimply during totallity? I did during the 2009 event...
  11. Very nice, my 'plans' to head down under for the 'clipse came to naught.....
  12. The site was down for repairs when I checked today, I'm sure that it won't be too long though...
  13. I'll be there in ye olde Lande Roveur bivoac (hopefully with new canvas by then) once again, although I shall be investing in a scope cover, my LXD-75 hasn't worked properly since.... I'm sure that once things are ironed out, we'll be receiving our 'invites' in short order.
  14. Hopefully I get some decent observing time when I'm home, are you able to drop everything and scoot over? Often the skies clear at short notice...
  15. No worries Rae, I'm in China until 14th Dec. though. Is that Rochdale Road Todmorden or Rochdale Road Bacup?
  16. I've put the mount and 150 refractor into the observatory, I'll need to check/clean my EPs etc. And I want to do some of the Land Rover bivouac jobs....
  17. ^^^ I've not even bothered putting my mount back up on the pier yet....
  18. What a cool weekend, worth it even without the stars Dion showed me the avi. It is rather good!
  19. Red screen covers are now in place, red lamps aplenty, need to finish packing the bivouac/camping gear then orft to't shop for supplies and non-jaffa snacks then I'll be on my way.
  20. I had a lovely, very clear, hour or so around 04:00ish. Jupiter was rather stunningly clear and bright this morning.
  21. My Land Rover works, the Helios 150 refractor arrived this afternoon, I've been sorting stuff and will do a bit more, then snooze, then set orft ..... .... oh, hang on.... I was thinking today was the 19th!, silly me, I blame the jet lag. Plenty of time to get sorted out now
