  1. ah but I appreciate (if that is the best word) the sense of disproportion in the size of a 0.965 or 1 1/4 inch attached to a FT focuser at the rear of a 130. It always brings a smile. michael
  2. just saw this on eBay.de go for 125 Euros, dimensions (cms) 47 x 17 x 16 uh oh, forgot to say without the goodies!
  3. Target line test device for Caliber 105, possibly for a Leopard I (?) I'm wanting to place that on the next mount with the 130. Maybe experiment with some cmos imaging - see what can be done and what not. VS FOV but brilliant clear optics. The other gem is a zeiss theodolite which will also be adapted for imaging. The guidescope I'm working on (not pictured) is an old 500mm telephoto.
  4. ...thought it was about time I grabbed an image and uploaded it. This is my 130 as it is stored when not in use. It's an APQ 130/1000.
  5. and now we start going down the road of colour schemes for ota's? michael
  6. no don't do that - you'd miss all of the insightful comments and sparkling wit that abounds within such organisations! yes, I too have been 'there'! (for a while and then I had to respond to that siren call of sanity!)
  7. haven't played in a band since I was a young man in the 70s though.. Watching the skies and good rock music. What could be better??:-) Dave Now that's the attitude I like! In his 70's and playing in a band - still seeing himself as young!
  8. Bill. thanks for the time you put in for the review. It looks like when it comes to my next EP purchase that a set will not go unconsidered. Now, to prices....
  9. does this look familiar? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Beautiful-Planetarium-Brass-Orrery-Solar-System-Model-Tellurian-/170796753155?hash=item27c447a103
  10. Pete I think that that's a great idea! Just remembering the thread from a few days ago now about a 'mysterious' light / satellite and it turned out to be the 'Dragon' flight. With radio events like that could be shared between more observers. Of course the (equipment) costs could be prohibitive for some as well as the need for a ham license to spread the word. OTOH if an alert system could be established where an observation was made, contact to a base made by mobile and then SMS's could be sent...? I wonder what it would need to get up and running? michael
